My guess is it's simply a factor of the power tube.Dean Aka Nekro wrote:Yep admittedly it does sound like an 80's thrash-Style tight and abit scooped (Edit: Sorry i mean't 'Contoured' to speak in Marshall terms) than a JCM800 does, So its possible that they have voiced them as proper plug and play amps for what got them their reputations?

Good point as they are being rinsed as they should be. That video (well Premier Guitar's video demos are always good, But that one was at NAMM where its usally a video camera mic and less than ideal acoustics plus background noise) really got me. I just am as said itching to try now as soon as I am able to my friend. I will be going for the mini amp head version (or versions if i go for more than one model). Even though i have not heard them, The JCM2000 and JVM models being equipped with a full on FX Loop should make them really rather great pre-amps and also power-amps (and hopefully they will sound good in thier own right, Even though i have a JCM2000 DSL50 it won't stop me from having the micro version!). Honestly that JTM sounds so damned Marshall it reminds me what i love about Marshall amps, Same with that little JCM800 for that classic, tight and contoured Bay Area Thrash sound it was putting out with ease (which as you and no doubt everyone else knows i have a big soft spot for). I can picture the JTM and JCM800 heads with a cab each and micing them up with choice of mics that suit each (subjective of course, I will bet a 421 and e609 or 57 on the JCM800 and a few active ribbons on the JTM), AB/Y box with choice of OD *if needed* and/or noise gate. It would be excellent as the relative levels of each would work great with the tighter 800 punch and the pure mid-range beast of the JTM making a great team as but one example just the though Eric
Cheers and if you try first please spill, I will share my thoughts also of course for what it is worth to all here

Ok, definitely not my next guitar(s) (again) but, wow, pretty impressive.

A debate about body resonance is probably pointless though...

Gary, that was cool
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Hard maple body, it's going to weigh a ton and sound harsh and biting.Ian B wrote:I'm not getting one, but I the looks of Hofner Coloramas and this is a decent price

Exactly, and the P90's will only increase that aspect of the soundUncle E wrote:Hard maple body, it's going to weigh a ton and sound harsh and biting.Ian B wrote:I'm not getting one, but I the looks of Hofner Coloramas and this is a decent price

Yup. One of my first guitars was a hard maple body Carvin. Even with humbuckers, it was hash and biting. I can't imagine how bad that guitar would have sounded with P90's.

As long as you know what you're getting I can't see anything wrong with the wood/pu combo on this, but anyone buying unseen/untried expecting smooth jazz-like tones
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/kramer_guitars ... _white.htm a white Kramer. What else could an 80's shred/riff monger want?
Actually this is better spec wise: http://www.thomann.de/gb/kramer_guitars_sm_1_black.htm
I would like a white guitar one day though (for some reason, Black and other similar BAU colour variations of dark is great and gets the job done but a snow white would look nice and would go for a mape board with it also...One day).
Oh and as much as i love Thomann's prices and what not/cheapness, I also love equally the typo/mistakes:
A 30 Fret Ibby anyone? Here you go:
