Note this doesn't cover the "P" variety. "P" stands for passive but it should stand for imPort. P's have standard thicker necks without the carbon epoxy and a standard fretboard. They have nickel not hardened stainless steel frets and have lower grade pickups. I've got a P44 and it's a bolt on not a neck thru. It has a maple neck and a mahogany body. I'm not a fan of the newer bolt in necks be they imports or made by washburn. It's okay but once you've played a slim neck thru with extremely low action the bold ons pail in comparission.

The "P" variety are made by Cort and are okay even though Cort has a really bad rep.

Also The classic, custom, and deluxe varieties all feature Seymor Duncan's where as the mojo's are fitted with Dimarzio's That's where the big sound difference comes thru. Duncans produce a "Ritzy" tone where as Dimarzios have a more primal tone.

The other thing that should be a concern to all is the floating trem. It has a down only/ no trem or floating. Floating is a bitch if you change string guages and they make special "Blocks" for each gauge. As mine is an import I only have the down option. But it's super stiff. I've been thinking of pulling out the middle spring.

OK, trying again: Scott Lake - Go Fourth!

It builds on a I iv I iv with piano to build the emotion, then look out Stryper/Poison/Cinderella/Britny Fox/etc. I'm coming at you even though I'm basically bald! Superdome, here I come (but keep the lights on this time)
sounds really good :hail:

I like the guitar tone, what are you using? Your new axe and?
I added this content back into the original post, but to answer your question: As for recording - it's the Epiphone Nighthawk Custom Reissue into Guitar Rig LE (the version that was free on Computer Music Magazine cover DVD a few years back) set on a couple of different Marshall amp based settings, then after that I put an instance of CM KR Delay and CM KR Reverb, with differing amounts of the sends on the rhythm and the lead.

Lead was the neck HB, rhythm was the tail (I normally did this the other way with my previous 2 HB guitar, but this sounded better to my ear).

Sorry if that disappoints anyone who feels you have to have a real physical amp. I haven't had an actual guitar amp since 1999 when I sold my KMD combo amp. Bass is also into Guitar Rig LE on the picked bass preset. Bass was my $129 Rondo Music 62 custom P bass re-issue/copy.

Na, I'm just really happy about that sound. Amp sims? I has 'em

Hmm.. P-Rails in the bridge.. Lace Sensor Gold in the middle.. Bluesbucker in the neck. Sounds like a plan.

Found a tech in South Austin that will do the work for a LOT less than the GC tech, he's an hour bus ride away but it saves me a ton of cash. I buy the parts, he does the actual replacement. :hihi: :hihi: :D

Extra bonus: he's near one of the best fried chicken places in Austin! :-o

I've got a Burstbucker available for $50. I installed it once and removed it after a week, so it's pretty much new.

I haven't seen a Grandys since I moved back here, but we have plenty of Churchs around. The Churchs spicy chicken is really good! 8)

Just looked it up - appears to be a PAF-alike, right? The Bluesbucker is like a humbucking P90.. which I figured would be good in the neck for blues tunes.

Hmm.. much to consider. :?

Grandys had awesome chicken fried steaks and delicious biscuits. I remember Church's spicy chicken well, just outside of the east gate of Fort Hood was one that delivered. You're we not a man if you ate the regular bird, I was not a man by those standards (dont like things too hot) but I'd be damned if I would let anyone know that...so those memories are painful :hihi:

I miss Schlotzsky's too, there were two up here for about a year in the 90s...of course that isn't chicken

Sorry, I meant to write Bluesbucker, not Burstbucker. I can sell a near new Bluesbucker for $50.
