I've just got done with my review of the Jazz Box I've recently aquired. Not that they get much play beyond me here at KVR. I thought some of you would like to take a gander.

Thanks Barry, Hibidy.
I did indeed. I'm so loving the thing I can't put it down to work or do anything else. When writing the article I'd play for an hour, write a paragraph, play another half to hour and write another paragraph.

Interesting piece, Mike - and thanks for the link on floating vs fixed P/ups too. I would be interested to hear a couple of snippets of it played A) just acoustically and B) via pickup and amp. That thing looks really beautiful.

So priced out bare knuckles and it's anywhere from 270+shipping UP.
So, option 50 would mean it's mine for sure and that additional cost. I'm not sure it's worth it. I think my Carvin pups sound fantastic.

That is steep, Shipping is the biggest pain in the arse and prevents me getting stuff that I'd like to also hibidy from your country if there are no UK/European distributors. It fecking sucks, Oh well I'm sure it'll be ideal with pick ups you know already
Good score Mike, Obviously it isn't an area I know much about but I still like to try and soak up information on areas I'm not well versed in, Pleased you got a bargain dude
f00k shipping costs!

Harsh. Carvin's pickups are certainly a bargain, I only with they wouldn't do that ugly 22 pole pieces thing.hibidy wrote:So priced out bare knuckles and it's anywhere from 270+shipping UP.

EDIT.
Those "black dogs" look (and in the clips) sound tasty. I'm not looking for a high/shred pickup as much as a character pup that will do clean, to crunch, to high gain. Clarity is pretty high on my list but I certainly want something hotter than a dimarzio PAF.
Here is the spec:
https://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/main/p ... =black_dog
The contemporary pups are probably not for me. Still, not decided.
Price for these is steep, and again option 50 (meaning the 10 day rule doesn't apply, but all warranties still do) but I really want to hit it out of the park.....or maybe just not at all. It's not like what I have sucks

yeah, As pretty as the pictures are....
They still don't do that "tea-burst" finish justice. It's so stunning.
I'm loving the instrument everyday and learning a bunch of jazz standards to do it justice.
I don't think I could survive a trip to Elderly. It's the holy land of vintage instruments. There isn't another store in the midwest that can compare. One would prolly have to go to the Northeast to find something close. Great finds you have there, thanks for sharing.
