Hi

I have also been having the issue 'need midi o/s'. I have been trying to update the firmware of the 49 SL MK2 using the Midi OX program using the midi output from my Delta Audiophile 24/96 s/c in my PC. I followed the instructions in this post under instructions for PC:

I tried this several times and also fiddled about with the buffer settings and the delay after F7 settings. I managed to get the update to transfer up to 100% but then when installing it said something like "installing 10% flash write error".

I have now just got the update to properly transfer and install by unticking the checkbox beside the 'delay after F7' setting, and using all the other settings as it states in the answerbase article.

EDIT: After restarting the device and firing up Automap, automap wanted to update the fimware again to v1.2.05. I allowed it to update and this update also seemed to install with no problems. I shall keep you posted if I have any more problems.

Just tried this solution using Maschine and it worked great on the 1st try, Novation's support said it has to do with the MIDI transfer rate of the unit being used to dump the SysEX OS file, thats why Maschine works but other units may not Thanks to Raikard 233
