Is 7200 rpm enough for Ableton Live?

SSDs are totally worth it IMO -- Hell! They're Solid State! No moving parts! Super Fast!

But they're not as fast as RAM! :)

So if it's a question of $$$ -- only you can decide on that bro :)

But I would take 32gb of RAM over a 32 or 64 or 128gb of SSD any day! :)

It's all about RAM basically  :help:

Hello,

Thanks for all your replies, they were really helpful! I bought a pack of two 4 GB of RAMs and a 7200 rpm HD for my laptop and everything works perfectly. I just get only one crackle all day today on my studio with sample rate of 128 :) . And there are no dropouts on my sampled piano either! So I hope I'll not have any issues with this setup on my performances.

I'd like to get a SSD but they are very expensive and for now I could not afford it since I have a performance tomorrow :)

By the way from the tech guy on the computer shop around here told me that hybrid hard drives with usable SSD and HDD partitions will be available on next year, maybe then I can go for it :)

Thanks again,

Cheers!
