There is. ;)
YES! There were TWO versions of the 4-Pole: The more rare to find 9 Volt 'A/C' was Curtis type filter.
The other and one I own is the 12 Volt 'D/C', which is indeed the 'Pulse Filter', which is based upon the Moog Ladder Filter. The audio input was designed by Stefan to use 'any audio as trigger' but he based his design using a bass guitar as the 'typical use'...the trigger input can be anything, just as the mono audio input can be anything...but has a dual stereo output and incredible midi specs.

Hi,

Waldorf seems to have updated their Sysex and CC parameter list:
http://www.waldorf-music.info/en/pulse2 ... -list.html

I just got an updated version of the Synnys editor that makes use of the new implementation. Will check ASAP.

Tzhe Synny editor and the changelog for the latest version (v1.0) could be found here:

Here's a fun hypothesis to ponder this Winter day:

What if???? The FX Board was **already inside Pulse 2** and like the Blofeld Sample Option, when the Blofeld Keyboard was released Waldorf announced that board was already lurking within and for an *upgrade fee* one could get activation code to bring it to life???

It could happen!!!

Last night in Berlin Elektron just announced in December the new Analog Four O.S. Update will **unlock a HUGE "PLUS DRIVE Memory and more"** and full poly mode ....all for free, though!!!!

Waldorf would get my money from the keyboard Pulse 2, but even if that never materialized to activate FX board and perhaps even more Waldorfian alien reversed tech features--sure, to support a small company to contribute to finally making the mythical 'Stromberg'...that could happen!

i made a video demonstrating the editor i made.

The FX board is not already inside Pulse 2... There's just a port to connect with supplementary daughterboard that should materialize at some point.

Also I'm pretty sure that Stromberg will never really happen. Not in this economy and not with its projected price (>4000€ with expansion drive and filter modules? That's a John Bowen Solaris right there!).

Well, it was just a hypothesis. Has anyone used the TB MIDI STUFF App Pulse 2 Template that was created by Waldorfian List keeper, Till Kopper yet? Yes, it's for iPad. Never had use or want/need for an iPad until Waldorf NAVE was released for iPad so I have it and bought TB MIDI STUFF App but have not used editor Template for Pulse 2 because I bought the Q Keyboard kind of for my own Christmas present and so being pragmatic about spending accordingly. Pretty cool that these different editors are being created by very smart folk!

Here's the Waldorfian List's email of that Template so I quote Till Kopper:

"[Hi,

as the first batch of Pulse 2 units are now on their way to the users, here is a
template for the iOS app "TB MIDI stuff" to control the most basic parameters in
one single patch and still having a tiny keyboard available on the screen at the
same time.
Included Pulse 2 sections:
- all oscillator parameters, including the ones for unison and paraphonic modes
- all filter parameters
- all 2 envelope parameters
- all VCA and Distortion parameters

Available for free and not password encrypted, so you can change everything to
your like:

To clear some things up:

- There currently is NO FX board shipped with the Pulse 2
- inside the Pulse 2 there is no DSP chip and/or additional circuits for this (the digital part of teh Pulse 2 consists of a Coldfire CPU/microcontroller)
- there is indeed a connector for an additioal board which was already shown at some pictures posted in this thread

Anyway the Drive feature is more or less a FX too and this is implementd with analog circuits (before the output stage).

Yes... and they have also listed the Global Parameter's indexes, but again they forgot to write the darn "Global Data" request/dump strings... and they do not respond when I write them and ask for them. I'm getting a bit irritated at their silence when you write them... the last 3 emails I sent I've gotten absolutely NO answer to.

I can see in the info going with OS 1.13, that it now support request/dump of the Global Data.

Well. you can easily observe a "new top/higher tier" across more and more makers, slowly here and there, both in quality but most notably in pretty extreme cost in "todays crap-tastic economy all over world now", e.g. Prophet 12, Solaris, Telemark SEM, Lipzieg KS, Radikal Technologoes Accelerator, what MacBeth, MFB & others are working on, and just announced Elektron Analog Keys...all listed at least $1900.USD/2200.Euro and up to $5000.--ALL giving Access Virus a serious line of competition and/or options. So depending I guess on sales of Pulse 2 and am thinking a surge in Rocket sales once people realize the magic analog filter bank and Arp make that an inexpensive tool; it would not be 'out of realm of possibilities' for Waldorf to release their brand new instrument along lines of Flagship Q on steroids.

@Razmo--Have you tried the Waldorfian Mailing List? http://www.waldorf-forum.com/cgi-bin/ma ... user-forum

The archives ALONE are worth weight in gold and platinum but rather than a typical forum, Waldorf has this list in which actual beta testers, engineers, programming, design personnel as well as musicians, and just register and properly post a question.
Waldorf has always gotten back to me and just have to be patient and open to the plain fact communication is just a bit different and extremely to the technical point, if not pleasantly terse with dry humor mixed-into all...even takes Elektron, another small company, two to three weeks to answer me. But I know from the Poly Evolver Keyboard experience, being ignored is not fun nor ideal anywhere.

Back to Pulse 2: I REALLY would love for Waldorf or users to post videos and sound of connecting in various ways, cv/gate, and MIDI, the Classic Pulse+ and Pulse 2, as well as Classic Pulse...AND incorporation of the Rocket and Pulse 2...I still think the two's color schema is no accident...Waldorf's impeccable Industrial Design record proves that!! :D

Sweet! This editor is one of the things that attracted me to the Pulse 2. I need deep DAW integration. I've got my Pulse 2 arriving tomorrow so will be buying this for sure.

The Synnys Editor is pretty much genius now two-way communications works.
The M4L version is perfect since all your parameters are saved with your Ableton project now. :)

Can anyone suggest a free program for Windows which can send the midi/sysex data to be able to perform the firmware update?

The manual says do this via your sequencer, but I can't, as I use Live, which doesn't send sysex unlike most DAWs. (It's a pretty big oversight on Waldorf's part to not provide any way to do it for Windows Live users)

Edit: I found out how. I already had MIDIOX installed which also installed a program called MIDIbar which I could do it with.

Edit2: How do I send the the pulse2_factory_sounds_2013.mid file? I tried the same method as above but nothing seemed to happen. (No MIDI light on the Pulse2 and no information to indicate it was doing anything unlike when I done the firmware upgrade)

Works nicely with Pulse 2 OS 1.13 and MidiBar here. Strange that it does not work.
Not much to do wrong in MIDIBar i guess. Select the output port in the dropdown menu. load the MID file and press play.

There is no indicator at the Pulse 2 when it receives the patches. You'll have to wait until MIDIBar is finished sending the patches which usually does not take very long (less than 1 minute i AFAIK).

For backup of patches via Sysex and loading those back i am using SendSX:

http://www.bome.com/products/sendsx/downloads

With SyxLoader it is possible to load a Sysex file and save it as a MID file:

I wonder if maybe it did actually work then since there is no indicator on the Pulse 2.

I just got it and have instantly done this so I have no frame of reference to what the patches were before I sent pulse2_factory_sounds_2013.

Ah good, that's the answers to my next questions.

Thanks for your help. :)

Update: All confirmed working now. 8)

Just got mine yesterday! Loving the sound and the possibilities. Sunday is a good day for writing my first P2 demo... :harp:
