That was posted yesterday. Oliver is part of the group 'Hardfloor' who are known for making acid tracks on analogue X0X roland machines.

That was posted August 26th, A Guy Called Gerald is also known for making making music on analog X0X roland machines, acid house in this case.

these posts seem to be causing a bit of a buzz. with Korg apparently doing so well with their recent foray into dirt cheap {to cheap-ish} analog units, modifiable, and the ms20 re-issue, one can only hope roland are taking a cue to do the same. all the clues seem to be pointing to something X0X and analogue, one can only hope!

fervently discuss & speculate :)

I still can't wash away the sour taste after Rolands last hype - which turned out to be a backing keyboard for party and wedding keyboardists. Careful optimism?

hehe, well they do make some things I really have no interest in :)
but in this case, the hype is based on the community reacting to some comments made by artists and not roland themselves. also, Oliver said prototypeS which bodes well for some X0X boxes ala the volca series, only more rolandy :)

from following these guys comments I'm trusting them not to hype up some bullshit product, I also like to think roland wouldn't waste their time asking these particular guys {acid techno/acid house} their opinion on some gospel workstation keyboard. compounded by the timing {korg doing classic analog again, and various other budget analog monosynths on the market being received so well} my bones are telling me this has got to be some lovely analog X0X magic :)

carefully optimistic of course :)

If it happens - ABOUT FRICKING TIME

Talk about late to the party.

Better late than never, I've lusted after the 303, 808 & 909 for years but could never justify the expense.

Might be a good idea to sell your 303's while you can still get ~$3k for it ;)

Post

in before they announce the TR-9009 digital rompler.

It's OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAANND!!

:hihi:

And a synth with the vaunted Supersaw oscillator... which turns out to just be a couple of samples taken from a REAL synth... No, wait... that already happened :> All the synth nerds know what I'm referencing...

Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

No jinxes! :)

I would love for Roland to rape the bullshit Ebay X0X $$$$$$$$$$$$$ market with a bunch of new reissues...

January NAMM is going to be interesting :) would be nice to get an announcement before then, or hopefully the Hardfloor guys aren't restrained by NDAs and can speak a little about the prototypes when they receive them.

Post

As if the button-mashers aren't catered to enough already.

Post

[yawn]It would be nice, but Roland have persistently shown no interest in going back to analogue. It'll be another digital rehash that sounds nothing like their analogue originals. [/yawn]

I'm not even going to bother checking ROland websites etc. Ain't going to happen.

GAIA 2

Probably :(

Sample-based kazoo with extra cupholder?

A good hunter always watch the prey close before action ;)
So guess they went into a ninja mode and looked at the competition first before they brought out their blades :hihi:
