Ok, couldn't wait. Had to take a quick work break to try Patch Morpher. It is free, but specific synth licenses cost money as in-app purchase. $13.99 for Blofeld. It works excellent and very good interface. It has a randomizer! This is outstanding compared to using the LCD on the Blofeld. Thanks for heads up on this! It is definitely a full editor.

This looks great. Can anyone confirm you can re-size the window? I have been using Monstrumfeld but its a pain as I work on a 13" laptop- the GUI eats my whole screen!

Currently i am trying to get serious with my Blofeld again (also with using some of my ow samples and custom wavetables...). MY comercial Blofeld bank that is available since some years was created with help from the free editor from Kotró László Lehel:
http://lady.rdsor.ro/~kotro/index.php?m=soft

Additionally that website also features a dedicated wavetable editor for the Blofeld.

Also got the free editor from Softknobs:
http://www.softknobs.com/
http://www.softknobs.com/wiki/Documenta ... umentation

Today i also purchased the editors from Monstrum Media and SynnyS:
http://www.monstrummedia.com/product/feld/
http://filthyfilterz.com/

MonstrumFeld includes a dedicated VST plugin while the plugin from SynnyS only work in Ableton Live (with Max 4 Live). Both products also include a Standalone editor.

Currently checking all the editors. For patch managment the older freeware from Kotró László Lehel still seems to be best from those mentioned above. Actually it originally was intended as a librarian while it lalso includes a full editor.

The editor from Rekon seemed to be too expensive and the GUI design uis not as nice as in e.g. MonstrumFeld.

well, from my perspective I only need a multimode editor for Blofeld. For me it is not a problem to edit single sounds right on Blofeld as its interface is well designed. Blofelds multimode editing is a bit problem because there is no easy way to isolate/switch mute/solo parts and by doing so I quite frequently end up discharging my multimode edits :/ Recon editor seems only one addressing multimode, but at $80 it is too much, at some $40 I would seriously consider it.

Any other options for Blofelds multi mode editing?

I had 3 free editors and since yesterday those from Synyys and Monstrum Media. While i had only tested those shortly i got the feeling none of those i got so far seems to be a perfect all-one-solution.
It could be possible that at the end i would have to go for the expensive one from Rekon Audio.

So far the first one mentioned in my post above seems to be good for patch managment and the
"MonstrumFeld" seems to be great for editing patches, at least with the standalone version (while the VST looks very promising too so far). It is possible that there is a certain issue with saving patches with a host project while it is also possible that this only happens in Live 9 so far. Currently checking other hosts (i got a few of them...).

With the "Blowfield" editor from Synnys i got bigger problems using the Max 4 Live plugin properly in Live 9 Suite here (the Standalone editor mostly works OK so far). I will send an e-mail to the developer today.

Also got the v1.0 of the free Softknobs editor now (previously used an earlier version) that i will re-check again.

Basically i agree that it is possible to use the Blofeld without an editor (which actually i had done recently...) but with more complex patches i found it is possible to lose the overview over the parameters.

With the Pulse 2 this seems to be more simple as the editing matrix at the hadware has more entries there (6 knobs + 6 buttons) and using a menu is only necessary for the mod matrix (1 page) and the advanced Arpeggiator features (1 page).

Recently i also did some new patches using my own samples (Blofeld desktop with Sl expansion) and only used the hardware for those.

While checking different editors i found that some of those seem to have different approaches and/or problems dealing with patches that use samples.

From the editors i got so far /including the 2 commercial editors i got yesterday) so far the MonstrumFeld seems to be one that works quite nicely with those samples. It has entries called "Sample A1" to "Sample A42" in the dropdown menu for the wavetables.

The "Blowfield" editor has a "SL license" switch that has to be activated if you wnat to use samples in that oscillator. This then ha to be used i ncombination with the wavetbles dropdown menu so for "Sample A1" you have to use "Off" in combination with the "SL license" tickmark. I also found another problem with this which i just mentioned in an e-mail to the developer.

Just checked the free Softknobs editor (version 1.0) and did not find a button etc. for using samples yet.

In the quite old (at least the first versions...) editor from Kotró László Lehel which i also used some years ago during creating my commercial Blofeld bank Samples could be selected from the shapes/wavetables drop-down menu too (while the second part of the names shown there correspond to those from the factory samples collection).

--------------------------------------------------------

I do not own the expensive Rekon editor yet (and did not find a demo version) but so far for editing patches the MonstrumFeld seems to be my favorite, even if i only own it for a very short time now. Also seems to have the best graphical interface of all editors including the Rekon one (based on the screenshots available from that one).
MonstrumFeld seems to work quite solid so far (at least in the Standalone) without losing the connection to the Blofeld (even after switching between many patches) and without crashes so far. A nice feature is also that double-clicking a knob resets it to the default value.

Have to explore the VST plugin further now, also in different hosts.

It looks like i found details about the problem with re-loading a patch from a saved host project and will report to the developer now.

UPDATE:
Got a reply and an update for the VST will be hopefully available soon.

There also seems to be a dedicated website for Blofelder:
http://chemidistry.webs.com/blofelder.htm

Like the Softknobs editor Blofelder does not seem to be able to deal with patches using Samples (no option to select them) so it currently is not really an option for me as i want to use some of my own samples. The GUI is also not as nice as in other editors (i really like the GUI of MonstrumFeld and that one could also work nicely with Sampes).
Also the slots for the user wavetables (tables 80-118) seem to be missing in Blofelder.
Currently there seem to be 2 tools for creating cutom wavetables for the Blofeld (one is Audio Term).

Another problem with Blofelder seems to be that plugin currently seems to be 32-bit only and i try to avoid 32-bit plugins where possible at the moment. For Ableton Live 9 64-bit i am also not using a bridge at the moment (while e.g. Cubase Pro 8 and Reaper got a built-in one).

Since there is little information about the Rekon Audio Editor, I did the gamble and just bought it. There might be others that want to have more information, so I decided to make a video:

Nice video :tu:

Although I have Rekon editor, I find the free one by Kotró László Lehel much better! Rekon editor might look nicer and includes a VSTi version, but Kotró's one is much better visually (lfo, filters ...etc) and in use the blofeld responses instantly to any change when I edit any parameter with my mouse. Kotró's editor is also much better organized and I can program a sound faster than other editors. The only thing is I don't know how to make Kotró's editor to response to the knobs in Blofeld. I might skipped something or there is an option somewhere to tick!

I didn't like the VSTi version of Rekon Audio. I must disable the Midi port of Blofeld in the host ..etc! So, I'm not using it really. I find using the instrument's track + Audio Track for Blofeld in Studio One is more than enough for me. I can dial in the program quickly after I enable the Program (Bank/Prog) in the instrument track inspector.

There is also a free wavetable creator in by the same developer. I used it to make few random wavetables, but I need to understand it well before I can make something useful!

I recently bought a Blofeld and am searching for a VST editor (preferably 64 bit) to use in Cubase 8. Primary goal is to edit and have instant patch recall on Cubase project load. Has there been any advances in Blofeld editors since the last posts in this thread?

I have the Rekon Nord Rack 2 editor, which works well. Biggest challenge for me is the small GUI on a high resolution monitor.
