want to fit MIDI out to the Volcas. the Beats looks OK but
the Bass...
ah, i just looked inside it, doesn't look like there's room to
fit a standard MIDI socket in there. Mr Fricoco-youtube- did
an pretty ugly step-out thing on the back, but that looks like
the only way. unless you use a minijack - how did they do
that on the monotribe? - edit: doesn't look like there's room
for a minijack either, it's very tight in there.
(what do you think of his MIDI Thru? says he didn't put anything
extra in there, and it works anyway)

bit confused about the VCF out pin - why do you want that?
surely VCF IN?

anyone got any ideas for the waveform out pins?

have Korg released schems for these?

Post

They haven't released schematics and don't answer requests.

read somewhere that the waveform points are CV inputs..
? can anyone confirm?

blackout/darren glen finished his individual volume mod for
the Bass oscillators - somehow managed to fit three pots
above the existing pitch pots. occured to me that osc sync
would be cool and give loads more scope. don't know if i'm
into the onboard overdrive idea too much.

anyone know how midithru differs from midi out?google...

yes, spotted that, thanks - i think you'd want to keep volca-sync- maybe
a switch? to select modes? or just another minijack socket. thing is, you
then have to keep track of another cable type! and minijacks are quite
deep as well, considering available space.
it looks like you can fit a female MIDI socket in the top of all of them if
you don't mind drilling through the logo

- i found that a 16ml counter sink worked well when i fitted dinsync to
a Boss DR110 - you just drill a pilot hole first and take the countersink
down safely until the hole is wide enough, then finish off the edge with
a a piece of sandpaper. it's a lot more stable than with a spade bit ;) (if
you can imagine one of those shooting off all over the rest of the panel..)

wondering: could Korg sync work with dinsync?
------------
edit: tempted to do a minijack MIDI socket, but it'll mean having to modify
and keep more MIDI leads, so am resigned to the slightly ungainly top panel
normal sized MIDI sockets - ah, saw one mounted on the right side on a site
today, still has to have a spacer though.
