Thanks for the answer
Is it possible to flash firmware from usb?

Post

Apparantly there is a way yes!

Put your BCR in U1 mode : Start it in a normal way, press Edit and Store simultaneously and put the upper knob 1 to the far left : U1

Switch the BCR off. Plug the USB cable, start the BCR in normal way, launch MIDIOX

Go to Actions, Send > sysex file, choose the Zaq sysex file and send it. The BCR will display some numbers (every 10% the counter increases)

Once finished, switch off the BCR and Switch it on, the Zaq demo mode will be started.

BUT! Please bear in mind that this only works with the very first upload of the Zaquencer. For every subsequent upload (to update the Zaquencer or to go back to the original firmware etc) you need to go through the bootloader (holding Store+Learn at startup) and use a Midi USB interface like described in the manual.

Zaquencer Version 1.03 has been released!

This update adds the “pendulum” direction mode (equals Ping Pong without repeating the borders) and adds the ability to import/export your patterns and global settings as SysEx files.

This SysEx feature can e.g. be used for:
- backup of patterns/settings
- switching of global settings for different setups (live or studio)
- mirroring patterns to a second Zaquencer as a backup (for live)
- exchange of patterns with collaborators

For the SysEx feature the free & open source utility app Zaquencer Preset Manager has been created.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/zaquencerpresetmanager/
So far this allows validating Zaquencer SysEx files after export with more functionality to come.

If you already own the Zaquencer, you´ll find the download of the 1.03 full version in your account for free.
