if not i can cancel them, thanks.
slightly over-the-top when any consumer portable audio player comes
with minijack stereo to L/R phono  but yeah 3.50 is ok (why do
you want phono?..)

to go into the back on my xone92 mixer.

mztk, the Rockstar is brilliant because it's tiny, passive, and dirt cheap.

In fact I'm yet to see a high street store that isn't using one to wire their display Volca's up.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

Post

the rockstar can't go into line-in for recording though?

what device are people using with the 3.5mm to 6.35mm cables?

the back of my mixer uses phono...

****in' 'ell, that's expensive... :D i could get a really nice big
allen+heath for that...

umm, totally passive, 2 way, then? no issues with 2+ audio signal
elbowing for room, not going to blow up a volca, using it the wrong
way round? cool.

rubez, if you can drop 1200eu on that mixer, for around 100eu,
you can get a 12(4 mono, 4 stereo)channel recording mixer, with
all i mentioned above, and it will all integrate nicely with your daw.

how is that a better solution than just using the xone92, since i already have that...?

had the xone92 for about 10 years, so...

 what does this mean, seriously? if there is a better solution than using the 92, i am interested...

cheers.

also, just got my beats, and (due to a repair on my speakers) the sound is not loud enough even with it maxed out on the beats. so i need to boost the overall volume.

more or less a joke: that thing is a headphone splitter,
eg: 1 to many
but Mushy is advocating using it as a mixer,
eg: many to 1
(in stereo, that is, lol...now you're confused...)

i think the behringer qx1202fx is ok for the money, you can bring back your
pc audio onto the mixer via usb for monitoring on speakers, and get your audio
into your pc from the volcas with minimum fuss. very direct.

http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/QX1202USB.aspx
(only prob is it doesn't run on batteries, needs psu)

Post

ok, so why would i use that over the xone92?

Post

rubez wrote:ok, so why would i use that over the xone92?
because earlier you were whinging about the possibility of having to use a mixer?
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

Post

that's a mixer too...

i'm already limited for space. why would i pay for another when i already have one, unless this has any benefits over the 92?

as a side note, seriously underwhelmed by the beats, without even getting into the laughable snare. think i'll swap it out for a sample :hyper:

Those are exactly what you need. I use them to connect my Monotron and SmartPhone to my mixer.

here's the kind of thing i mentioned as an alternative
-but this one seems to want 12v, there are others @9v

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0048FBBS8/r ... f4b5d102_S

20 quid mate. they even give you the adapter cable.

sure, you can use the dj mixer.
gee you really *don't* like hardware, do you? hey guys, we got a diehard VST fan...

mind you, underwhelmed at the output of the Beats, you're going to be wanting
to do the individual outputs mod, which will need more channels, and then we'll
be back at square1.

nb: you can automate stutter 'per voice' if you turn off Global stutter, and also
automate pitch of the PCM sounds, gives more sounds to play with. it isn't an
808 though.

If space is at a premium then the Pocket Operators are right up your street (although you will need to plug them into something to hear them) ...

I don't think he wants another mixer.

rubez wrote:it's complicated!

it has to be stereo to dual mono or else you get gremlins.

other guys used that cable i linked to... WTF are they using, it's not a mixer is it?

It's not complicated at all. "Other guys" using that cable have mixers with 1/4 inch jack connecters (doh). :dog:
