@antto: as you've always been very tb-303 focused -
one of the really cool oldschool things you could do
with the Roland series other than tb-303 was/is to
replace a regular clock with one provided by a drum
machine such as 808/909/7x7/606/626 playing a rhythm
pattern, with rimshot or another part having a trig output.
(i mean like the sh-101, where you can bash in notes in a
stack before getting ie: a 606 to send Tom trigs to step the
101 sequencer)

so whatever notes you've entered come out with different
timing according to pattern being played. probably the best
bit about electronic music making, + took place before MIDI
even arrived.

forget the Bass as any kind of 303 emulator, it's just a gen.
purpose monosynth with 3 osc. the envelope is a bit unsubtle,
but the filter has a lot of range combined with other controls.

it'd be good if you got one and took an interest in mucking it
up a bit :)

just.. no ;]
as for midi note off velocity, it probably sends NOTE_ON with velocity=0 (which counts as NOTE_OFF)
the reason for this is probably to take advantage of the "running status" and reduce the number of outgoing bytes
It doesn't matter how it sounds..
..as long as it has BASS and it's LOUD!

this is the kind of thing:

'spose it's the clock divider part that's needed. double the clock, feed it to a
delay, and straight, then combine.

can't find a simple schematic.
