MenuMagic News
Things have been busy here at Agitated State.
Over the summer there were 5 major program updates (see our web forum MenuMagic updates for details).
Since then we have been working on MenuMagic v2 for Sonar. Version 2 is not just a version update, it's really a rewrite of the whole program. The goals is 2 fold - first of all to make MenuMagic easy & intuitive to use; and 2nd having the power to do what you want/your way.
Some of the new features already in V2 -
• Foreign language support
Program is still in English but you will be able to create menu items and rename plug-ins using Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Klingon, German, Italian, French, Leetspeek, etc.
• Option to automatically add '64' suffix to 64 bit plug-in names so that you can easily identify them within Sonar.
• Easy plug-in type identification - identifies plug-ins as VST, VSTi, DX, DXi and 32 or 64 bit.
And a whole lot more…
Edit: see other posts in this thread for new images, etc.
We also started a major upgrade on our web site http://www.agitatedstate.com . It's still a work in progress but please take a moment to check it out.
If you are in the USA I hope that you are having a nice Thanksgiving holiday, if you live somewhere else I hope that too have a nice weekend!
Best regards,
...Steven

3rd of several videos from the v2 beta.
This one shows the non-English menu created by MenuMagic as it appears within Sonar X1.
I didn't realize that the beginning of the video didn't render properly. Its too late tonight to fix it but I will re-shoot it later.

Here's another image from the current version MenuMagic - this is of a search being done in the Plug-in Info Grid.
The Plug-in Info Grid is a great tool for analyzing your plug-ins and fixing problems.
The Plug-in Info Grid is a great tool for analyzing your plug-ins and fixing problems.
- The grid show a complete list of plug-ins on your system and all the relevant details.
- You can sort the grid by any column and do multi-colum sorts.
For example you could sort on plug-in type, then sub-sort on name, then sub-sort on plug-in location.
The program comes with 12 predefined sorts but you can create and save own. - You can search the grid as shown below where the user is searching for 'b4'.

Images from MenuMagic v2 beta showing the Name Fixes feature in action.
Note: In the current version of MenuMagic this screen and functionality is the same except for the 'Show Type Info' which is a v2 feature. Also there is a bug in beta - the 'Fix Selected' button is showing as disabled, this will be fixed before the beta is posted.

Another image from MenuMagic v2 beta.
In the image above notice the "Add '64' suffix to 64 bit plug-ins" in the bottom right hand corner area - this setting makes it easy to distinguish between 32 & 64 plug-ins in your Sonar menus. You can see how this looks in the image below - look at the Absynth 5 listed in the first line of the Plug-in Info Grid.

MenuMagic is the plug-in management tool specially designed to work with Sonar - Cakewalk's Premier DAW. Its powerful toolset enables you to analyze, fix issues and organize your plug-ins (VST, VST3, DX, 32-bit, 64-bit) into menus quickly and easily. Unlike Sonar's built-in plug-in manager with MenuMagic you can easily identify newly installed plug-ins, orphaned plug-ins (ones that are not assigned to a layout menu), do global name edits, identify duplicates and much more!
