SB plugins not working in Digital Performer

I cant get my sonic birth plugins to work in Digital Performer. I can open sonic birth, load an audio file and the plugin works within sonic birth. I install this plugin, and then open Digital Performer. Digital Performer tests the AU plugin, and the plugin passes the AU inspection. Then I load the plugin into an audio channel, and I cannot move any of the sliders/knobs/x,y/etc. Therefore, the plugin is basically worthless. All plugins that came with sonic birth share this problem.


I am running DP 5.13 on Mac OSX 10.5.2 (leopard)
Macbook, 2ghz intel core duo
1GB RAM

It could be DP's way of handling automation; it's using old standards. For, example, the latest NI plugins can't be automated using host automation in DP; you have to use MIDI. For a thread on the GR forum about the issue:

i'm not trying to automate though, i physically cannot click on the sliders and move them.
