Anyone ever tried to build an amp simulation???

Hey there!
I wonder if it's possible to build a virtual guitar amp in sonic birth.
The tube overdrive is nice but sounds a little... well... digital...
Any ideas how to realize an amp simulation?
I thought about different distortion values for different frequencies but it sounds like cheap fuzz pedals.
Unfortunately I don't have the slightest idea how to model an amplifier in sonic birth.
Perhaps I could get some results using some mathematical functions in the equation modul.
So if someone's got any ideas I would be happy to hear about them.
Thanks in advance.

Okay... I found some information via google.
http://www.bteaudio.com/articles/TSS/TSS.html
http://music.columbia.edu/pipermail/mus ... 66483.html
To do a soft clipping via a tanh function and a hard clipping is done with ease...
But it sounds awful. It's not even close to a guitar stomp box.
So if anyone has done a guitar distortion before PLEASE HELP!!!
EDIT:
Found a complete mathematical model for a tube guitar amp here
http://www.simulanalog.org/tubestage.pdf
But... Well... I'm no genius...
Perhaps can someone translate this in SonicBirth language...

That paper sure is interesting. I'll work on it a bit and see if I can make sense of implementing that in SB. If you come across any other theoretical models, post links to those as well.

WOW... sounds great. I tried many things and spent nearly 3 days without a even nearly useful result.
I know how things work in theory. But getting that to work in SB isn't that simple for me.
Thank you very much!!!
