Here is the CRASH report from Apple's AU Validation tool after re-scanning a MONO-->STEREO plugin ( in this case my Eventide "Instant Flanger" emulation).
All MONO-->STEREO plugins , even my simple M/S "Side \" decoder (simply takes one input and outputs 2 channels in inverse polarity) give the same error: "ERROR: Output Buffer Size does not match requested num frames"

Hi,
I had similar problems with surround plugins when the number of inputs didn't match the number of outputs.
Have you tried to set a dummy 2nd input ?

Could you explain what you mean by a "dummy second input"?
If I were to specify a second input in the plugin descriptor, it wouldn't appear in the plugin list for a mono track as a M->S option.
