ALERT: Dub Turbo SPAM.

Hi all,

We are very actively investigating the "Dub Turbo" spam email that appeared to come from info@fxpansion.com. DUB TURBO is in no way affiliated or endorsed by FXpansion.

We are looking for leads to determine how the spammer appears to have got some of our email list. When we do, we will be responding... "appropriately"... (A fine example of British Understatement there).

Your credit card info is completely safe as it isn't stored or even processed by FXpansion servers - that's all done by HSBC and Paypal.

We will keep you informed, and strive to ensure such annoyance and anxiety-causing spam does not reoccur.

Update:

DubTurbo claims an "Affiliate Marketer" in Clickbank has gone rogue. We've traced the emails to some domains registered to businesses around Toronto, and will continue to apply pressure to the hosting companies, clickbank, and DubTurbo/NCMedia to resolve the situation.

Our webguys have been scouring the past few years of server logs, but as yet haven't spotted anything that would explain how the email addresses were obtained. Further more, we have reports that a few people without FXpansion customer account have been targeted as well, so there may be a bit of a general music-industry-email-harvest taking place. We just appear to have been hit hardest.

Further update: it appears VirtualDJ is now being spoofed as a source of emails as well. If you are a VirtualDJ customer, but NOT an FXpansion customer, we would be interested to hear from you to establish if there are a bunch of music software companies that have been compromised, or whether it is just a new "from" address spoof going to our customer's email addresses.

ClickBank are shutting down new aliases of the spammer as fast as we report them. DubTurbo is assisting us in gathering as much information as we can.
