Hi all,

bought Cantabile lately and using the latest version - 'til now w/ no issues.

Right now, I've got the chanllange to change Cantabile songs using Yamaha Motif's Master Mode Program Change.

I set up a global midi supression (controller 0,32) and a midi assignment using auto learn w/ action "set list - load song (instant)", too. The program change initiated at the Motif (I'm using Motif ES6 and ES7) is sent to Cantabile, but the songs won't change. I verified proper MIDI communication using Midi OX and Cantabile log file / tracing. But nothing happens ... :-(

These are the MIDI events received by Cantabile:

Code: Select all (#)

15:59:31 [1524:2]: AudioEnvironment - MIDI In Events from prev cycle at 21074762
15:59:31 [1524:2]: AudioEnvironment - MIDI In Event @ 21074761 Ch:00 Controller: 0 = 0, deltaframes=0
15:59:31 [1524:2]: AudioEnvironment - MIDI In Event @ 21074762 Ch:00 Controller: 32 = 0, deltaframes=0
15:59:31 [1524:2]: AudioEnvironment - MIDI In Event @ 21074763 Ch:00 Program: 3, deltaframes=44
15:59:31 [1524:2]: AudioEnvironment - MIDI In Event @ 21074764 Ch:00 Controller: 7 = 100, deltaframes=88
15:59:31 [1524:2]: AudioEnvironment - MIDI In Event @ 21074764 Ch:00 Controller: 10 = 64, deltaframes=88
Please see attachments for the MIDI settings made.

Any Motif users / ideas in general out there? Got no glue how to achieve this ...

Many thanks for any answers,
Jochen.

Hello!
Try to assign your controller to "Set list - load next song"
... set list must not be empty :-)
is it works?

Hi,

atm my Motif isn't connected to my laptop so I try to explain it without:

1) As far as I remember filtering of Cc 0 and 32 isn't necessary (probably it even was one of my threads where I asserted this  )

2) Open "MIDI Assignments" Dialog box

3) Send any program change from Motif, it's without meaning which one you send

4) (important!): Open the drop down menue "Controller" and chose the entry "Program change on Yamaha Motif ES-1 channel x". If this entry isn't changed, the assignment receives Bank information which doesn't work with program changes on Set Lists.

5) Open the drop down menue "Assign to" and chose "Set List - Load Song (Instant)" here.

6) Press the Assign Button

@SoftMachine: that's not exactly, what I wanted, but thanks anyway.

Humphrey,

got it, you showed me the correct way! Thanks! But I had to modify some things in order to get the program change in Motif Master Mode work:

1. There's no need to suppress midi controller 0 and/or 32 as Humphrey stated.
2. I had to enable to transmit both, Program Change AND Bank Number in the Master Mode's "TX SW" options.
3. I had to set MSB/LSB numbers greater than zero, for example: MSB=001 LSB=001.

So, many thanks at all,
-jochen.
