This series of short videos are really useful, thanks Greg!
I hope that Youtube including automatic captions to your videos soon, so more people can understand. Fortunately, your voice is clear and I can well understand your explanations.

Once the captions are made, the video owner can edit the captions to correct mistakes. Once done, people can see the video with captions in 51 languages, really great!

I was watching the videos on you tube and then I stumbled upon this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRp9cD4cThI
I noticed the strum pattern part is different. Two people left comments saying theirs didn't have the pattern editor. I then noticed it said "legacy". I thought the pattern editor was pretty cool and is similar to what I've seen in other libraries. Is this pattern available still available or was it dropped? It seems in the new one there is downstrum & upstrum and one has to do the pattern by hand or in a sequencer.
PS: I just found this thread which explains it was replaced with the new method, which is kind of what I thought:

The whole pattern system was discontinued in favor for the strumming palette for a few reasons:
- Step sequencers are generally very limited in terms of rhythms--only allowing you to use 8th/16th notes, etc., no triplets.
- Because strumming happens across the beat rather than on the beat, you would have to anticipate the chords and strumming patterns. That wasn't very performance/sequencer friendly.
- You were limited to measure-long patterns.
In any case, I'm bringing back the strumming pattern concept to Evolution K4 but using a very different system, which overcomes these limitations. After all, having ready-to-play patterns can save a lot of time sequencing, and can be useful in performance environments as well.

Hi Greg
Nice instrument you have here.
I know the voicings I want to use because I have written for guitar quite a bit. And your library is very complete but it almost does too much for me. I want to be able to pick the voicings that I want to use simply by choosing the notes on the keyboard (I'm a keyboard player by trade and a pretty competent one) So rather than write the parts in by mouse, I want to play them, then add the strums/keyswitches. But it seems that when I play the voicing I want, the program doesn't want to follow or allow what I am doing.
For example, I want to play the old chugga chugga with the root and the 5th, which then moves to the root (actually doesn't move) and the 5th to the 6th of an A chord, for example. But it seems to not want to let me. The d# won't sound.
How can I free up the rhythm part of your instrument to allow me to do that? Seems I can do that with a lead patch but not a rhythm patch. And I want to use the rhythm patch because it has a lot more keyswitches available to me than the lead patch does.
I hope I've explained my question clearly enough for you and thanks in advance.
Edit:
One other thing... in the Leading Worship patch, for example... it's adding pedal tones it seems? I play an open E, B, E and then switch to an E, A, E (same low and high E.. the B just moves down to an A) and the B continues to get strummed (along with the A) even though I am not holding it down. How is that being programmed and how can I get rid of it if I want to? This sort of relates to the above in the fact that I am getting voicings and even notes that I don't want.
Thanks again.

The basis of all the rhythm patches is the chord detection system. This makes it easy for non-guitarists to access real guitar voicings by only holding down simple triads, etc. Power users can actually edit these guitar voicings, so if you need a specific voicing, you can edit the corresponding chord. In fact, at times I've modified the "root" voicing to create a custom voicing which I access by holding down a single note. In that respect the chord definitions can be arbitrary to the voicings they trigger. For example, you could make the "E" root play an E and B fifth voicing. You could make the "A" root play E and C# sixth.
Because the system recognizes chords in all their inversions, certain simple intervals (besides just a plain 4th/5th) are purposefully not included on the chord list. For example, holding E and C#. That could be interpreted as either a major 6th or a minor 3rd.
