I love this bass. To my ears it sounds fantastic just playing it on a keyboard and needs minimal tweaking afterwards. For those interested the track "more tea Mrs Armitage?" on http://audioscapist.net/ features it.

Thanks, P.

Sounds great, nice groove! Did you sequence the bass note by note, or play it in?

Totally cool track! Gotta love the funkalicious groove!!!

I also checked out a bunch of your others songs and I liked what I heard. Nice work!

Very impressive - nice groove and it has a sense of space, not overcrowded or too busy. Tell us more about the lineup - horns are sounding great on this track.

Many thanks guys, appreciate the comments.

Mainly played it in (in looped sections) and then a bit of editing: moving the odd note, changing length and putting sustain in. Slides and harmonics put in step by step. But it really does sound good just playing, fantastic scripting. When I look back at what I've played there are lots of bum notes, but they just seem to meld in and make it sound quite authentic so I leave a lot in.

Horns are "Mojo/horn section" which I won in a draw (thanks Mojo and the VI forum cos I never could have afforded them). First time I've used them and there's a lot to learn. Hammond and Clavinet are Logic Pro's EVB3 and EVD6 (very tweakable), there's some Alchemy, guitar is me and drums are Addictive drums. I use the midi loops and then tweak as necessary. Vocals are Terrie from the Tonehammer's forgotten voices - again just started using this huge library.

cheers, P.

Well they swoggled pretty well all the same 8)
a funking jam featuring Terrie from Tonehammer on vocals joining Bam boozle and the horn swogglers plus friends with hammond, bass, guitar, clavinet, drums, moog and a sax section.

I love it too, but, can't seem to figure one thing out: Is there a way to switch from the sound of playing at the neck position to playing at the bridge position?

Also, I went crazy looking all over my computer for a PDF manual. Is there one?

Post

The playing was sampled between both pickups, so unlike Iconic Bass Jaco, you don't have options when it comes to where the strings are plucked. However, if you're after a particular bass tone, just email me an example and I'll help you model CoreBass after that.

There's a PDF manual, but it's fairly basic--though it does cover the manual keyswitches to control up/downstrokes or slap/pop in CoreBass Cherry Slapped and Picked. I can send you the manual if you'd like.

Hello, Greg,

You are awesome with your customer service. If the PDF is the Readme, then I've got it. I ended up using Iconic Bass - Jaco for the intricate parts and CoreBass Cherry for the meaty parts and it sat fine. I appreciate your offer and see if I can find an example.

Thanks again.

Joe

I'm not using any other bass at the moment - is this normal? For those interested examples can be found on

Hey, thanks so much--these songs sound great, too! Hearing your positive experience with the library makes me excited about the upcoming Rickenbacker bass, and the other projects on the horizon. :)
