At any rate, here's my only parting shot...

But I lost all respect yesterday. If I had broken the rules, either willfully or accidentally, I would disqualify MYSELF. End of story. I couldn't, in good concience, accept a prize or honor I won while not following the rules. But I guess that's just me.

Unfortunately, it's also "just you" to goad someone into your way of thinking. You have a real knack for pushing people's buttons for sport. Little digs like "big enough boy" and "tongue up his ass" only serve to escalate such a situation, not resolve it.

And really, who takes this kind of treatment well? Obviously none of us do. So we push back, both sides do, and it gets out of hand.

Sleek was about ready to bow out to avoid the trouble, but then you made it nasty and personal (and I'm not saying he's innocent in this regard). Beyond that point, the only way for him to bow out would pretty much mean a public announcement of, "Okay, Jeff. You're right, I am your bitch".

That's probably not what you wanted to accomplish by baiting him, but that's what happened.

Anyway, I say this not to lay blame, I'm just stating my perception of the situation. All of us did exactly the wrong thing and let pride f**k with us: f**k pride.

Well appearances matter. And judging by some of the e-mails I've gotten in the last 24 hours, you've got a bit of a credibility problem on your hands. I'm not saying this to be rude so please don't take it that way, I'm just stating the truth.

I am totally uninterested in what Lady J or her supporters have to say, and if someone has a relevant issue with the contest administration I'd hope they'd bring it directly to me (or pHz, though I know I'm the "bad cop" here) instead of starting a "whispering campaign".

And if they want the job, they can have it.

Well I do hope you will see fit to reinstate them to 1st, 2nd and 3rd and allow them to receive the prizes they deserve. That's what I would do regardless of who they are. If Sleek was one of them, I'd be arguing for him too.

In fact, despite pHz's ruling, I will ask Sleek to concede. If it's not a matter of him having to wear a "Sleek is Jeff's Bitch" t-shirt, it will probably go down a lot better.

I don't know. I think Sleek is a big enough boy to be responsible for his original choice, which was to ignore the rules. Again, that's my philosiphy on life in general. Yours obviously may differ. I realize these contests are mostly for fun, but I especially feel sorry for the next 3 in line who followed the rules and are being totally shafted by someone who's obviously proud of himself for doing it.

First off, there is nothing in the rules about changing tracks after the first submission. NOTHING.

...so, I broke NO RULES.

Second, I was asked to shorten the track 2 seconds, and did...so it would break NO RULES.

Apparently, you're making up rules as you go. Sorry I broke your secret unposted rules.

I will, however, be quietly waiting for your apology for accusing me of breaking rules which didn't exist, slandering my good name and lowering the tone of this contest.

Your entry was not composed for this contest. Neither was it an original, a remix or a hybrid, as the rules strongly suggest.

You also got the date syntax wrong in your mp3 tag.

...it's easy to do that, since they use european date orders, but, you know, rules are rules.

In light of these infractions, I fully expect you to do what any REAL MAN© would do and disqualify yourself for these flagrant violations.

...either that, or you're running a double standard here. I'm also fine with you just admitting your hypocrisy, lightening up and moving on.
