Never did this before, but it looks like fun.
I stayed up all night working on this one, and it probably shows--but not in a good way
Okay, let's hope I did the link thingy correctly.

hopefully, upon retirement i'll be able to afford a big modular and spend many happy hours in my shed twiddling, but til then i'll have to make do with my vocal improvisations*
The Moog KookBook
lyrics
ol'Bob Moog built himself a synthesizer
with lots of funny switches, knobs and dials
and when you plugged it in
something most surprisin'
the sound could stretch for miles
with every little patch our eyes were beaming
and twitching smiles spread into a grin
and as we played it on
the hearts would sing along
and gush forth 'til they trickled down our chins
woah, woah, woah, woah
and now your asking me:
"What was it like? I really need to know."
well, i'll tell you
if you promise
that you'll never tell a soul
that i went, WOOOOO.....
-----------------------------------------
eXT, minimogueVA, sfz, psp nitro, kjaerhus classics, glaceverb, ixox's octodel
* i was watching the moog documentary the day before he died, some of my comedy here was inspired by rick wakeman's banter in that film. the moog impression, however, owes more to todd rundgren, who did a hilarious theremin take off in the 'theremin' film.
i'm glad the rules have changed this month - i didn't know how to crop my excess 5 seconds. thanks to those responsible
please enjoy yourselves - it's just for fun
bob moog - may your flower continue to bloom, your branches to bear fruit. RIP

Something very simple:
Flown
(Lyrics)
Lyrics inspired by an old story in Bede's History of England (II.13). Paraphrase: Life is like the flight of a sparrow through a brightly-lit hall. For a brief moment the bird is safe from the storm, then it flies back out into the night. We live for a short time, what comes before and after we cannot know.
All with MiniMogueVA and voice. Cheers.

Hi Y'all
Time Returns All Legends To Glory
This is my first entry in one of these Comps here but in a strange twist I'm over here in part because of a Comp I'm running at my home over at The Auditorium.
This piece was written for the Moog Tribute theme but it also obeys the rather stricter rules of my comp where the only synths and fx allowed are a few that I made with Synth Edit and gave away. I have made no specific attempt to sound like a Moog synth at all (for about the first time in my life).
So it goes like this Host: Energy XT
Synths: Molder, Janus 3, BroadLead, The Orange & Orange Pith
FX: Orange Segments, Orange Juicer & Orange Peel
No Sampler, Reverb Plug, Compression, Eq or other fx were used.

Here's my submission... the idea was to not make this a lament but rather a celebration of synth pioneering.
The Great Modular In The Sky.
Hope you enjoy it!

I claim no merit for this submission - I just used a midi file and substituted synth sounds - but, as it is not a competition as such, and, as I couldn't resist the pun, I would like to offer...
In The Moog
Though the sounds are not specifically 'Moog', I tried to capture the fun element of early synth renditions of existing works.
(16 tracks of SampleTank 2 synths)

To honour Moog I made this, which will also be my contribution to the Katrina relief CD, although in a doctored version.
I tried to be a guitar player who just recently discovered the joys of a Moog.
Emdot suggested I use this description of it as the title, but I'm keeping the title and adding the description: Wobbly sweeps in both ends of a fairly anarchic near-ambient field of undecided tonality. For your listening pleasure.
In a blue Moog
I concidered a bunch of bad puns on moog. Moogie-woogie, Proog-rock and so on, but I settled for the more accepted moog/mood one. Not alone I see...
It's ogg. At the Auditoriumthere's an mp3 version as well.

When I saw this month's theme, there was only one choice for me: the Wendy Carlos thing. Her Switched-On Brandenburgs are what got me interested in synthesizers and classical music. There's nothing really original here, I just tried to find a Bach piece that nobody's done before. Thank you Mr. Moog, thank you Ms. Carlos, and thank you J.S.
Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in A Minor, BWV 1041
Allegro assai
Violino concertato, Synth1
Violino I, Synth1
Violino II, Synth1
Viola, Triangle II
Continuo, Minimonsta(demo version, sadly) and Pluck
(Kjaerhus Master Limiter and Auto-filter)

An other month, an other song... called : "Bob has left the building".
It´s a tribute to Bob Moog, so : few guitars and singing but lots of synths and robotic voices.
In the song I use my 3 favourite lead instrument sounds : el. guitar, sax and synth. I guess it comes out of my blues past. In the beginning of bluesbands, sax was the lead. Then the el. guitar took over until Bob made that MiniMoog... Funny enough they all do the same thing : putting some cream on the cake !
Everything is recorded in Logic, my MiniStrat goes through a Boss GX-700 (with a little Boss Flanger, in parrallel). Backings from Madame Jordanne and the robotic voice was made with SayIt (a freeware Text2Wav program).
Virtual instruments : EXS24 (drums, ChapmanStick, church bells, dirty tenor sax), B4, Logic ES2, Synth1 and Minimogue.
Fx plugins : BassChorus, mda Detune, Reversinator, Stereo Enhancer, BugPass; from Logic : Fat EQ, Tremolo, PitchShift II and DeEsser.
On the busses : Classic Delay, Classic Reverb and GlaceVerb.
George Yohng´s W1 Limiter on the output and GO... .. .
PS (for the bad boys) : You could say that the best part of the song is the 2 sec. of silence I´ve put at the end ... .. .
Now just wait to download until pHz does his magic and put a direct link : HERE.

No MIDI, no polyphony, no velocity or touch sensitivity, no stable tuning. OK, maybe a little MIDI - only because my Prodigy has some stuck keys. I used analog instruments (Moog Signature Series Etherwave Theremin, Moog Prodigy, lemon shaker, cheesy harmonica, even cheesier voice, etc...) combined with digital processing (Live, Peak, GarageBand Jam Pack, AirFX, Pluggo, Vokko, FL5, EAS, BuzZer 2, mda). It's an oddball, on the lighter side:
