Is it a real bass? Notexactly, it's a Warr Guitar (like a Chapman Stick) http://warrguitars.com/artist.html

Custom made 10 string thing (although I'm only using the bottom one really in that track). You play by tapping and it's fitted with superb pickups, hence the tone. Was pugged straight into my soundcard (via mixer), no compression or eq.
