i discovered will oldham by accident
got a mate called will oldham and one day whilst a little stoned out shopping,in hmv they had one of those sales where you can pick some ok stuff up because it doesnt sell well
anyway saw a will oldham album thought "hey that wiould be funny" had listen and thought ooh cool.
does he use othe non de plumes then

Current favorite is the Blue Merle
Think of a kind of a Coldplay meets Dave Matthews Band, all done on acoustic instruments with featured mandolin quite often.

I also like this independent artist from Minneapolis area: Chris Koza. First and last tracks on his CD are a bummer, but the rest of the disc is really inspired:
