Thanks normal and runagate. I'll pass on the yak for now.
Yes to crappy electret microphones. I'm doing a lot of exceptionally crappy low rate sampling with very bad equipment and really liking the results.

OMFG I love electret mics!
I used to carry a mono tape player from 3M that was sort of a pre-boom box
from 3M of all things I think - it had the worst playback quality of anything
I've ever heard but that mic would pick up everything perfectly in a 15' or
more area. Unbelievable.
Even more I liked the cassette recorders with the mic in em from Radio Shack.
They didn't record as nicely but you could bend the shit out of the
crappy plastic case and thus alter the playback speed with the little speaker
on the side of the thing just roaring - abnd of course re-recording that on
another tape recorder. =)
I honetly have 9 hours of plastic recorder, tuned V-8 can & other little, fun instrument
recording jam sessions with my friends from 10 years ago somewhere around here.
I should really take 300 hours to clean em up via digital means and put them in surround.
Can you tell your song's got me all worked up?
I'm returning phone calls with it cranked way up in the background.

Like to hear some. I'm too busy to make anything for a few weeks but I can listen to warped plastic anytime.

A very good thing indeed, for its not so easy in these days of creating music to have a listener recognize the tune as yours.normal wrote:a good thing ...Glad you like it. Yep, despite my best efforts, whatever I do seems to come out sounding like me.
I'm loving the half in half chaotic feel of this one, with the added signature free-style jazz synthery. Beautiful and crisp sounds in here that make this listeners ear melt
