I think enjoyment of this month is related to your fondness for guitar solos. :scared:

1. zzz is zero/leaving the motherland
2. slodberg/moving to venus
3. heck/golden age
4. xirrix/vurty
5. iggy and pablo/augustus dub
6. the tots/enfantry
7. nestor/peterpan
8. decoy/echoes - astanine?
9. anorexic niggaz/top of da izzo - heh. doc'x?
10. smalltalk/my young love - nice arrangement, though most of the instrument samples are sort of horrible. :)

HM: Anything without a guitar solo. :P

(I was planning to favour original tunes over straight covers, but Heck won me over.)

Post

It was really pretty difficult to vote. There are about 25 very good tracks, 20 good ones and 3 outstanding tunes. A big thanks to Markleford for managing this.

1. Smithee & Co - Insects' World (never had a doubt about No.1: innovative, atmospherish & homogenic)
2. Query String - Get The Message (Needs a better vocal-mix, has a strange addictive attraction.)
3. Kronos Eros - Cuffed (Wonderful mix of different elements, everything fits in perfectly, especially the vocals.)
4. Curiouser - Concerto (Did you use the synful orchestra? Will there be a larger version? Wow I like it!)
5. Vince'e Friend - Pista de Audio ( Good combination of instruments, nice playing; ixos?)
6. Heck - The Golden Age ( great cover of an outstanding tune)
7. Slip Note - xxxxxx vs. Floyd Cramer (It was the atmosphere...)
8. Miles Roberts - Granchildren (just nice)
9. Dark Wish - Mink Void ( Perfect emulation; Is Nick Mason your neighbour or your husband? )
10. Anorexic Niggaz - Top of the Izzo ( perfect assemblage; could be Max )

Guitar solo: the other Floyd-emulation was not bad, but there was something missing.
We are Bach: that is weird and I like it, but I can't listen to it that often.

My first time voting... goes a little something like this:

Smithee & Co. - Insects' World
John Mitchel Charred - Oxygenic Part 1a
The Guru - Deserts Rise
Bad Nutrition - Left
QueryString - Get the Message
The Colourist - Spectra
We Are Bach - Rogue Fugue
Heck - The Golden Age
Kronos Eros - Cuffed
The Tots - Enfantry

It wasn't easy trying to select 10 out of all these great tracks. I had no idea these competitions were of this calibre. I look forward to trying again soon.
