There is always next month (which is already this month in this part of the world) :D Maybe this month's theme should be "Cher"

I agree that some string noise is an essential part of making an acoustic guitar sound natural. For me, in this track, it seemed overly intrusive, for some reason, and made it harder to distinguish the lyrics. Not sure if it was the mic-ing, or just where the string noise occurred in the track. It certainly hasn't been a problem for me in any of your other, similarly instrumented, tracks - just this one.
I have to admit. String noise bothers me on both acoustic and electric tracks. I will eliminate it almost entirely from my own recordings unless it's really slight.

Something to keep in mind is that both putting compression on the guitar track AND/or using a brickwall limiter on the song in mastering will almost always make string noises louder.

Arglebargle, 1-2-Many, slartibartfast, Scott & Jeff - cheers for the different perspectives. 8)

If the noise is getting in the way of the lyrics, that's obviously something to look out for. (Lyrics here if you're still having trouble, slarty.)

But with the aesthetic angle, I reckon it might have a lot to do with the kind of music you're used to. If you were brought up on commercial radio or smoothed-out 80s production, I guess you're going to find it more intrusive. If you're coming from more of an indie/lo-fi/folk/blues/whatever angle, it's part of the charm. (Had to do a bit of driving today, found myself flipping from station to station listening for guitar noise. :hihi:)

(Reminds me, I once had to interview this funny old Brit who grew up in one of those gulag English boarding schools. His only knowledge of women came from a pack of racy playing cards and the occasional demure nude in an art history book; poor guy said he was truly shocked to discover on his wedding night that real women have pubic hair.)

Have to run off to a doctor appt to check out all my judo injuries (not a good sport for old folk!). Results afterward.
