here for you listening delight is....
dukbient
a bit of an ethnic feel to this one featuring real duduk from topaz.
i'm pretty happy with how this is shaping up but i would like to add a spoken word sample (from a film or something) at about the 2.48 mark. i've been playing about with loads of stuff and i can't seem to get anything to work, so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.
anyways, all comments welcome, enjoy.
cheers,
steve

actually failing and actual sample suggestions, could everyone mention what mood/feelings/images the tune evokes, it might make it easier for me to find something.
cheers,
steve.

thanks mate, thats actually one of the sites i've been using for source material, but in the end i wasn't happy with the results. the vocal snippets were just too short, even when stretched and with delay to fill gaps.clueless wrote:http://www.jmannix.net/proverbs.htm

not that it really matters but the Duduk is a christian instrument not islamic, if that was a reference to the middle eastern tip.
great work Steve

i'd initially thought this was a great idea...
then i checked, armenia (which is where the duduk comes from) was actually the first officially christian nation in the world (ad301) and have had massive issues with their islamic neighbours (turkey and iran) ever since.
so as much as i agree with the islamic sound, this is probably not the most fitting thing to use... plus on the off chance i ever want to visit armenia, i'd better not
glad you liked the tune...
