Here's an ambient track i'm putting on my album. It's the final track and I want the album to go out with a bang. The whole album is slow, mellow ambient style stuff and it would be great with some nice guitar work to end it.
The song's main notes are a/c/e and the bpm is 100. If you think you have what it takes, take a look and get back to me. Thanks.

Are you going to post the final version here? I listened to the mixed down version you sent me and I like it.

Nice and atmospheric...I like this a lot.
I missed the original post otherwise I would've like to have had a stab at this.
however, that said, Scott has done a great job and I don't think I could have got such a nice tone as he has.
Minimalist guitar work but it fits perfectly.

Oddbods,
Thanks for the nice comments. As to creating the tone, the plugin chain I used on both the guitar parts are all freely available plugins (except for Amplitube LE)
Signal chain was as follows:
1. Made in Mexico Fat Strat on Neck pickup (so basically any strat will do)
2. PreSonus Firebox
3. GVST's Ggate (cuz it's a single coil after all!) http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1297.html
4. Amplitube LE on I believe one of the AC30 clean presets for the lead and then the big lead preset for the background 'noise' drone tone which was just me fretting E on the G string and applying vibrato (the big lead preset is quite hot and picked up just that for most of the track)
5. Fromage, can't remember the preset but I could send an FXP of it
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/572.html
6. Bionic Delay on one of the warped tape delay presets and then tweaked - again I could send an FXP
http://www.interruptor.ch/vst_overview.shtml
7. Ariesverb on the Temple of the Ancestors preset, maybe a few parameter tweaks.
http://www.ariescode.com/ariesverb.html
I have the last 3 in a 'Rack' in Tracktion - it's one of my favorite drone and ambient creation with guitars and pianos.
I automated the Frohmage 'resonance' 'Cutoff' and 'evolution' settings for the tracks.
-Scott
I have to give credit to an acquaintance from www.fenderforum.com, Andy McRory, who added a similar track to a song of mine a couple of years ago. He used a similar effect chain in garageband. This one has been one of my favorites ever since. Songs like NTCD's track here almost beg for a sorrowful guitar tone like this one. Can't play fast cause the delay and reverb tails get all muddy. (I can't play fast anyhow!).

I'm thinking a solitary word would be better for the song.
My candidates:
Still
Halcyon
Lull

Same as you used on Golden Age vocal.
I downloaded it after hearing it then, but it doesn't like Sonar very much unfortunately...plus it's mono and mono plug-ins are also a pain in Sonar.

I love ariesverb
I guess I should download this in case there's any pirate chanties in there.
BTW you might want to edit in the link at the top of your post since not many people
are going to scroll through reading after they realize the first link is broken.

Blimey, that's freakin' "chill" as you kids say.
Very pretty but I think my pulserate is too high due to caffeine for this one today.
I'll come back tomorrow with some ether.
