Hi everyone!
I've just published some ambient songs with a caribbean theme. Hopfully this will result in a 4 part suite called Caribbean EP. Some of it is pretty inspired by early (and later) Jarre. Listen and tell me what you think.
Mp3 can be found here:
Caribbean Pt 1 - Welcome:

Caribbean Pt 2 - Reef in Storm:

Caribbean Pt 3 - Island of Birds:

Or you can choose some streaming alternatives at:

Thanx for your time!

They're...quite nice.
I'm not used to ambient music having this much beat and melody going on, and I must say you've got your hihats turned up loud, but all in all not bad.

Nice tracks ! They have the good taste of JMJ (for the ambient pads) and a soft carribean sound. I'm waiting for the #4 !

Thanx for some nice comments and helpful criticism Hovmod and Darl_Chenu!
About the beats. Early ambient would not have much beat, even though there where tracks that applied drums and percussion it would generally be mixed in a very laidback soft manner. The 90s ambient rivival would use a lot more drums though and a lot of those ambient songs would border other genres. Future Sound of London (another influnce of mine) being a band making such song. Anyway genres is more sort of a general guideline to guide people searching for a specific kind of music in the right direction. I do feel ambient is the most "correct" category for my music.
As for the hi-hat, I had no idea. I really hate to loud hi-hats and try to keep them down. Listning to too loud hats can be very tiering for your ears. Anyone else feel this?
Anyway, thanx for listning and taking your time to reply!

Nice ambient Better then Jarre today. I was a long time fan of jarre since his first Oxygene in 1976. But since some years he is "out of business", his career is unfortunately over.
Make more Ohmu-Sound its better then Jarre-Sound

Thanx 4damind & elv for taking time to listen and replying
Agree with you 4damind. JMJ had his highlites in Oxygene, Equinoxe and Magnetic Fields in my opinion. Though I have had different "Jarre-periods", and at some point I was into his more bombastic albums like Rendez-vous, wich I don't like that much today. It's a good thing he has started too look to his early works. Too bad though he don't reach all the way there (imho his work is too clean and a bit too trancy, other people does that better).
Anyway thanx for some incurageing (how do I spell that bl**dy word) words! Nobody feels there's a hi-hat problem?

Btw I listen to your tracks 4damind, very nice, especially the trance and goa stuff with stunningly beautiful synthsounds
