Anyone know of any sites that host remix/song writing competitions like the KVR forum comp?

I'll start a list:

http://us1.fakescience.com/contest/monkeylove/index.php - Ends August 20th, 2006
http://andrew-duke.com/contests.html - Ends August 31st, 2006
http://www.acidplanet.com/contests/autoauto/ - Ends September 21st, 2006

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 25#2021225 - Ends September 15th, 2006 (hmmm, looks a bit strange this one...)

Edit: -Other contest links (many taken from responses in this thread just to pull em all in to one list)

http://www.sampleremix.com/
http://www.realworldremixed.com/
http://www.acidplanet.com/contests/?T=3956 - Loads of past contests with packs from Madonna, Chemical Brothers etc
http://www.remixfight.org/
http://ccmixter.org/
http://www.peaceloveproductions.com/remix.html - Charges $10 per remix.
http://www.songfight.org/t/

http://www.fawm.org/ - Song writing 'challenge' that occurs in February every year. You sign up and aim to write a short album/compilation within 1 month. People can comment on your tracks/ideas.

http://www.guitarwar.com/ - You have to pay for a subscription fee but it gives you a chance to compose songs and 'fight' against other people. Comments are made by other users on your tunes etc and people vote on criteria such as 'technical playing ability' for a 'guitar war', or mixing ability on a 'synth war'.

http://www.musesmuse.com/contests.html - Large list of songwriting contests that are taking place currently. Some are free, others charge for entry.

http://dmoz.org/Arts/Music/Songwriting/Contests/ - A fairly large list of song writing contests worldwide.

Great thread. Should be a sticky.

It's worth mentioning that there's not only 1 contest on Acidplanet, but 4; Karsh Kale, Aaron Slater, Auto-auto and Sueca.
Look under "current events" on the left under the picture.

I don't see a link saying 'remix' there - do I need to register be logged in? There's a link to a contest at the bottom menu, but it ended on May 30.

Got a new one:

http://www.songfight.org/t/

They post a song for everyone to record and re-submit in a 'fight', not a remix, but record and submit given a title.

It's underneath the Hope logo, second one from the top on the left. It took me a while to find it, so imagine my dissapointment when I discovered they're charging $1.99 for each sample. It's a nice song, but there's no way in hell I'm paying nearly $20 to remix someone else's work.

Found it - and I hear you, that remix concept seems like complete bollocks.
