i have lately tried to do anything musicwise but time is short... and it also turns wierder and wierder, cant do a normal tune anymore

well, here is a soundbite from my latest progress into a new realm, i.e. dub with a dip of glitch

more to come when vacation is prominent

enjoy !

good that you can't do a normal tune anymore, something to not strive for really.

I like the track, cool little atmosphere and eccentricities(spelling?).
I like the flow and roll you have. Really good action here. I like it massive!

Post

Yeah, this has got it going on! :D

Nice feel, nice production and some very cool audiotrickery. 8)
Can't wait to hear more of this stuff.

Post

sounds are sweet, but some of it is quite stiff and rigid
could do with some cymbals or hi-hats in some shape or another
keep up moving away from the normal tunes :)

I must say that sounds pretty F'n good. :tu:

I must ask the same question I asked the other dude.....did you use prepackaged loops or did you play any yourself? I'm not saying it really matters in the context of true dub but I really like to know.

What host and effects did you use?

Post

very cool: a great example of the backing sounds creating something greater than their sum.
..what goes around comes around..

Post

crazy alright, and love the way it breaks into something slightly conventional at around 55 sec

Post

Nice - I like it.... a lot :D

Reminds me of Deadbeat, or Kit Clayton - but way more glitchy & phucked up.

Post

Some nice ideas in there lex. I agree with bodo that some of it sounds a little rigid, i.e. it could groove more. Also thought I'd like some dirtier sounds in the glitchy stuff. Enjoyed it though, keep it up!

yes, i battle the quantize war all the time and this one lack some "in-between-the-grroves-feeling", maybe i was to lazy this time and just put a swing on all 16th and 100% strict quantization.

I think that a cymbals and hi-hats can highten the dub spirit, good advice

Thanks, and here is a list of the induvidual instruments and some effect in use.

bass: absynth + UAD 1176 + API 2500
glitch background: speak&spell with some pluggo fx on them
glitch synthline/stab: VAS + SRE555 space echo + pluggo
snare: stylus rmx + SRE555 space echo + pluggo
noise drums: microtonic + SRE555 space echo + pluggo
background horn: absynth + pcm70
guitar: VAS + SRE555 space echo
master bus: UAD Neve 33609 and limiter

so i played everything myself from the synths and romplers except the microtonic drum machine
