Heya...

okay I've made some changes and rerecorded everything... and I think it turned out great... I just need someone to play bass... so if anyone wants to... say the word (the chords I play are on the second page of this thread - please pm me for the [slightly] longer wav file)

here's a version with adj & bduffy on bass -

hope y'all like it
cheers,
mully

P.S. the only plug-ins used were BFD (Percussion) and AT2

I still need a bassline ;) if it helps it's played at 105bpm :)

Post

I can't help with a bassline, but even the result now is very listenable. Sounds professional, good work!

Thanks nitex :)

Okay I just rendered an extended version without vocals and as a wav file - all I need is a bassist now :)

Post

Here's one...(16 bit mono wav 44.1Khz)

Great song, and I've written a bassline that's unprocessed, unadventurous and uninspired. Feel free to hack it up, or just throw it out - I would. That'll teach me to pick up the bass again after 2 years not playing it!

If by chance you actually like any of it, and want it rerecorded, let me know (but it'll have to be tomorrow now).

Hey Frank,

thanks for your effort & your comments... but this one's out of time (must be the mp3 that buggered up the timing) and as far as I could tell it doesn't have the right intonation (at least in the chorus)

I was looking for a really good bass line - one that I couldn't come up with myself... don't care though if it is an upright or whatever - it just have to fit into the song

cheers,
mully

No more than I deserved.
Hope the timing problem doesn't affect anyone else's attempts.

Now can a proper bass player give this tune a go. It's worth it!

Hello,

I like this song. :)
But I want more. Where are the lyrics ? :x
I think lyrics are a very important part of a song and nobody (or not much) posts the lyrics.
It would be nice if everybody proposes two links :
- mp3
- lyrics (or the lyrics in the post).

I say again, good stuff.

here ya go:

Soliloquies

does everybody feel
alone or's that just me
oh how I hate soliloquies
does anybody else
feel solipsistic by himself
like his brain's in a vat
on a wooden shelf

they used to say
"come out to play
I'd need to ask mum
But maybe you can stay
Over for dinner
Sleepover tonight
Bring your PJ and a pillow
For the big fight"

But it's been a long time

he said: "you suffer from
brooding when you're on your own
hey you could still go out alone
meeting other people
they can't be that bad"
it's not that I don't want to but
my brain's in a vat

I'll give it a shot Mully -- later today (after work) and send it to you, use it or not.

*I'm sure you'll get to pick from a few* ;)

Cheers,

hehe it didn't suck at all.... it was just to competetive :P

I'm gonna try one myself (IF I can get a hold of my bass... I lended it to a friend and he didn't give it back and now he's hard to reach) and then I'm gonna put all entries up for the KvRians to decide

so the "race" isn't over... I want this bassline to fit really well

maybe some hints in what I'd like in a bassline....

ever heared of Pino Palladino ? :hihi: or Matt Malley for that matter...

it doesn't have to be a lot of notes - it just has to support the song REALLY good..
