1. Rockstar_not - Spiritus Sanctus
The most bloody literal minded pedal of the whole competition, but
also the piece that I enjoyed by far the most. Eh, you know that Gregorian
chant is not chromatic and does not use harmonies?
2. d'Mast - My Point
One of quite a few pieces that were more on one chord than actually using a pedal, but this one gets points for being funky, and for putting the pedal in a high instrument.
3. Gary Gerber - What's your pedal point
Great string playing and arranging
4. Lubi - Star61
Very creative.
5. YouTM - Phrenologic
Interesting that you can use noise and still have a pedal. I do feel the piece comes to a bit of a standstill halfway.
6. Hovmod - Floor it
As a composition a tad primitive, but great sounding and full of energy.
7. Markleford - The heart's filthy lesson
Great song, and bonus points for putting the pedal occasionally in the vocals
8. nikp2000 - little lucy
There were a number of guitar tunes this time that relied on a droning open string for the pedal. This was by far the best.
9. Bass-is Senses - Emergency use only
What can I say, I like drum 'n' bass. Excellent tune, this.
10. tl grant - pedal point with drums
What drums? But a nice soundscape.
Compliments to all participants. A very enjoyable month.
Victor.

a shedload of timpani this month. i don't know if that's significant.
1. lubi/star61 - understated, evocative
2. ixox/souvenirs immobiles - lovely song, would have been number one if you'd attempted those high notes without pitch shifting
3. deaf dunderkwac/blip one only - a nail gun romancing an electric shaver, nice
4. me109/monotonous - charming song & arrangement, do you know jon brion's stuff?
5. remco/mind over matter - dark and smooth
6. offthewall/pedalling home - nice warm drone, things briefly hit a bit of a hurdle around the minute mark, adds character?
7. holymoly/wanna ride - didn't quite warm to the synth leads, but the first half-minute is impeccable
8. core/rain - strong intro, nicely textured percussion
9. rsmus7/pedalottos - pied icecream van of hamelin
10. nikp/little lucy - love the end of verse turnarounds
+ many others equally enjoyable. good to see new faces.
