and we'll be playing live.
Here's what i need:
-Great Drum-machine; editable, not just "box with preset kits"
-actual synthesizer; same
-midi i/o
-sequencing and song storage (internal or CF )
-all the above in one box that can be both drum-machine and synth at the same time
and allow alot of complex live tweaking. I'd prefer not to have to carry around more than the synth/box/thing and a pair of headphones. Laptops and/or Receptor things are not an option because i've had horrible experiences with them live (and besides, with all the controllers/interfaces/crap; it's not as "portable" as i'd like). Picky? Yep.
So far what i'm thinking (but keep in mind, i am open to any kinds of suggestions):
-Elektron Monomate (not so sure of it's capabilities, though. )
-Korg ESX (I'd prefer not to have to rely on sampling, but if i must...)
Also, remember that the types of synthesis dont matter; neither do the types of sounds (necessarily). Thanks for anyone considering helping!
