One of the possible top 10's. It was surprising how many tracks I really liked given that prog is not exactly my style. I'm really sorry because lots of excellent submissions didn't make it to this top 10

1. Markleford Friedman - Plowshares to Swords to Plowshares: A Progressive Rock Odyssey (Abridged)

2. Nils B es flossen traenen

3. Fritz Fiedler - Fanfare For A Fan of Fairs

4. Tim Conrardy - 0703-TC Quintessant

5. Barnadine - Invocation of the Prog Lord

6. Mellotronaut - Prognuts

Some great tracks this month, as usual. And good to see some newer names rising to the top of the heap.

1. jplanet - Overture for Shadows. A brilliant exposition of prog rock

2. groovesys feat. Legion Hush - In One Sixtieth. Can't wait for the two minute version of this one :)

3. zeoy - Neptune. I love the way you made the bass take centre stage here - atmospheric and brilliant

4. jamesb - grazieFor11. Held together by some quirky melodies - I can't get this out of my head

5. Nils_B - es flossen traenen. Sweet and melodic, with authentic sounding instrumentation, and some great chord changes

6. Duncan Progsongs - Retropolis. Variety throughout - perhaps slightly over the top - the synth lead midtrack is a standout

7. sttjelle - fuz-travel. Just love that soaring lead guitar, and the piano and vocal pad in the second half is pure symphonic prog at its best. Inspiring chord progressions

8. MarcJx8P - Timechange. Great changeups, and wonderful synth sounds and playing

9. magog - allegory of the cave. You have captured the essence of prog in this track - pity about the fade out ending

10. Patrick9 - JustJammin'. Would have liked to hear the bass a little more prominent in the mix - but some great melodic counterpoint going on in this track

HMs:

Fritz Fiedler - Fanfare for a Fan of Fairs. Damn near made it into the top 10. Memorably ever-so-slightly dischordant perhaps let down slightly by the rather sampled Mellotron sound

Liqih - progerties. This has a quirky melody that just won't let go. Perhaps not as "prog" as some of the other entries this month - but a damn good track

Kara - Tribute to Zelda. Love that flute melody, but the violin sounds rather too sampled.

Hovmod - Miromurr. Great guitar playing, but rather too dominant in the mix.

core - the snow goose. Simply beautiful piece of music, but with the synthetic drums, and overall sounds, this perhaps is more representative of the early 80's - Jarre or Vangelis would be proud of this piece.

barnadine - Invocation of the Prog Lord. You gotta laugh with this one.
Time is an illusion - lunchtime doubly so.
