I woke up with this weird soundtrack in my head to a whacked out dream I had so I've started to lay it down. No idea where it's headed .

Shit Yeeeeeaaaaah Johnny!
This is excellent. If you decide to do vocals though, please...PLEASE, don't go with a Dragonforce/James LaBrie type vocals *shudders*.

Thanks guys. I'm going to be updating the track as I go, so check back anytime. The synth is gone for now, I'll add it back later when the tune is closer to completion.

By the way... the silent bits are due to the Ozone demo. Still haven't got 200+ dollars to shell out for it :).

Heh, no worries on that one. Gets under my skin too (same for Graham Bonnet).

You don't need Ozone :)

If your drum transients and low end sound like this because of ozone I'll just do it for you next time.
It's be worth it just to hear that chord progression towards the end over and over in my head!

Excellent.

The transients might be from the bass guitar, I'm fingering the hell out of it. Actually I don't even think I compressed it. I'll try a different rig and see if that fixes it.

Otherwise I've only been mixing with monitors for a week now. Always been headphones. It's different but I imagine it will be worth it once I nail it down.

I just meant the drum transients. Oof!
The bass just need individual multiband compression to my ears. I'm a fascist, I know :( Sorry.

I'm pissed that I came in post-synth but pre-finish. I wanna hear how this turns out.

Few changes: switched from a 1968 Marshall cab to a Mesa Boogie. Added a short synth sequence and a few other bits. Ditched Ozone and instead did some EQing and a limiter on the master bus.

That's coming along well. I'm curious what you'll do melodically at the 1:25 section.

Its pretty good man, although I cant wrap my head around the synth part. The guitar melody/progression reminded of the KNight Rider theme..haha THe rest of the speed/thrash riffs sounded good and had some energy to them.. All in all I guess they work together, but I didnt really like the synth section.. My opinion to make it better would be to add a different harmony with a bass guitar, I think if there is an added dissonance to it, it would fit better with the rest of the song...

I like the mix, althought that has to be a POD for the gits, no?? So the guitars sound all right(to me) but I think they could be better.. The drums sound real good,, the snare is crackin real tight and forceful... I think the bass guitar is too hidden and masked by the guitars... Try to throw in some ddifferent bass lines, especially in the synth section.. My humble opinion of course, but I hear it working..
