I'm partial to it, too. I played the mbira on to a tape loop and then slowed it down, I swear I've listened to it for hours already.PTV wrote:Love the repetitive middle eastern alike melody of the first one.

you thought of putting any music over those?
Just kidding. i really like Face 2 the most. Very hypnotic. Very sci fi soundtrack. You could just imagine this being the ambient audio to walking round the spaceship in Silent Running.

I considered it for a short time, but I thought it would just get in the way.Paul Russell wrote:you thought of putting any music over those?
Overlooking the cutesy robots, that's a great movie. I can live with making music for plants in space.Paul Russell wrote:You could just imagine this being the ambient audio to walking round the spaceship in Silent Running.

I saw them at a really small show (around 200 people) in Columbus, Ohio a couple of years ago. It was a great show...almost as much comedy as there was music....they're definitely entertainers....shock g was jamming on the keys which was cool to see...shamann wrote:Hump day bump!

yeah, thats where a lot of 'haters' of Tupac came from. He started with this lighthearted and fun, though often sexual, hip hop group-Digital Underground. Then, not soon after, you began his thug life crusade....shamann wrote:Just reading their Wikipedia entry, I had no idea that's where Tupac got his start.

Interesting. I think I knew him first as an actor.Meloday wrote:yeah, thats where a lot of 'haters' of Tupac came from. and on the evidence of films like Gridlock he could have been a damn fine one too...
but back OT:
like these a lot, I guess i'm partial to the dusty vibe of the first piece but I'm thinking i may actually like the second one more; something about the resonances you're hitting, certainly not easy listening but strangely... comforting? I had a bit of a tense day at work so maybe they're aligning with my alpha waves or something...

Not easy but comforting is a good way to describe a lot of the stuff I do, I think. It puts me in mind of the band Bedhead. I was a big fan of their stuff, they always referred to it as loud music to sleep to. I really like the idea of presenting things that we might initially recoil from in a desirable fashion.
