What a nice gift to wake up to - Yesterday was my 40th birthday.

My wife surprised me by taking me to the Allison Krauss & Union Station concert at the Fox Theatre in Detroit, and now this. The concert was glorious - ever member of the band is a virtuoso on their instrument, but as a band they all know how to play just the right thing at just the right time. Even though they had huge line arrays on each side of the stage, thankfully the production crew didn't kill us with sound.

Congratulations again to Markleford for his streak of song entries - the lion's share of which have been high quality and interesting songs. We should all wish to be so productive and challenge ourselves to try new styles, etc.

Thanks to all particularly for reviewing, and also for the votes; particularly the #1 vote from M4D himself.

Now, got to get over to the August contest to see what Scoops has up his sleeve. Gonna be gone almost 2 weeks this month so I got to get cracking.

At any rate, congrats to the winners, satisfaction to the middle-placers, and encouragement to the down-lows: I appreciated this month thoroughly top to bottom! Can't say as I'm optimistic to making it to 10 years without a missed month, but I'm glad I made it this far at least. Maybe I can give myself the prize of being able to skip a month or two a year (particularly with this upcoming move...)

Oh, and special mention for spirulence's late entry: even listening via tiny (and tinny) laptop speakers I can tell it was at least in my Top 3!
