someone once challenged me to write a gabba gabba song, so here it is:
Gabba Dabba Doo-Doo!
note the exquisite formal integrity ... in particular the subtle fibonacci-driven tempo-shifted repetitions.
and the soaring melodic line, which is based of course on a medieval rumanian deflowering of the virgins ballad.
developer plugin used: zee wunderbar compressive.
the theme would be: pick a genre/style that is alien/repulsive to you, and do(o-doo) a piece in it.

Take two contrasting elements and make one tune. Fast part/slow part, loud/soft, ugly lyrics in a ballad, two different styles, two time sigs, accordian in a death metal tune etc

Next month contest should be : track to welcome a new born...
Eliott Flotte
Plugs from the DC2007 : 2 instances of Bagels... The first one arrives at 0'40 on the left (Xylophone preset) and the second one at 1'07 on the right (EPiano preset).
I also used my new 25 Euros Melodica.
Salut Eliott, raconte moi comment tu gigotes,
Attempt of a translation :
Hello Eliott, tell me how you move,
Come on, my friend, do not tell me that you already walk,
But i'm sure that you float, in the happiness of your parents,
So Eliott, how do you like our solid world,
After 9 months, in your liquid universe ,
From now, if you float, it is in the happiness of your parents.
Eliott, by the way, i must tell you something now,
These 2 faces, which stupidly smile at you all the time,
You'll have to get used, you have them for at least 18 years.
Xavier

La Buena Vida
Proposed Theme: Latin
Why? Because making Latin music is like making love to a beautiful woman.
It's good for your soul.
Lots of possibilities: Samba, Mambo, Reggae, Afro-Cuban, Cha Cha,
Merengue, Salsa, Flamenco, Tejano - Santana, Shakira, Miami Sound Machine, Bob Marley etc.
Besides, if I win, we might be treated to Ixox or Knockman
doing their Ricky Martin impression....That would be priceless!
(or Barnadine could do his impression of Ixox/Knockman doing Ricky too)
DC2007 Plugs used: Bagels and Bouncer
(Both on the Xylophone track).
Picture yourself strolling down a Caribbean beach without a care in the world.
Hope you enjoy La Buena Vida (The Good Life).

Psy-T Feat. Oddbod's Finger - Acid Blues
http://www.psy-t.com/0710-Psy-T_Feat_Od ... _Blues.mp3
This one is based on Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers' (or Bobby Timmons', more specifically) song entitled Moanin', with a few changes to the lyrics.
It was composed in Reason 3, and it utilizes the DC 2007 plug ins truc by de la Mancha & sink on the drum track, and the wonderful delay Bouncer from Another Small Clue on the vocal track.
"Every morning find me moanin'
Cause of all the trouble I see
The contest is a gamble for me
a lack of votes has got me moanin'
Every evening find me moanin'
I'm alone and singin' the blues
I'm so tired of payin' my dues
Everybody knows I'm moanin'
Scoops, I spend plenty of days and nights alone with my riffs
But I'll play, really and truly play for votes of relief.
Every morning find me hazy
I'm alone and singing the blues
No, i really don't want to lose
But everybody knows I'm lazy
Every evening find me crazy
Cause of all the trouble I see
The contest is a gamble for me
Yes, this contest made me crazy
Scoops, I spend plenty of days and nights alone with my riffs
But I'll play, really and truly play for votes of relief.
Every morning find me moanin'"
My gratitude to Tim for contributing his lovely voice for this entry.
Proposed theme: D-Lysergic Acid Diethylamide Blues
I Initially thought I'll go with Acid Blues as the theme as a definite combination of the two genres like in this song, but decided to go on a more open ended route instead, more open to interpretation.

I couldn't be more excited to post this song. Big thanks goes out to Mellotronaut for his wonderful vocals.
To quote Paradox, please Play Twice Before Listening: core and mellotronaut - sandbox
The idea for next month stems from the lyrics: You can't be me, which means we'd like to hear some songs that show your unique talent, your signature sound, whatever spells you...
DC plugin used: Tiny-Q
Other: FL Studio, Kjaerhus Classic Compressor, Sonalksis FreeG, Ambience, Ariesverb, Atlantis filter, 3Osc (bass), the fabulous MrRay, my Japanese Squire Silver series, whatever Mello used (mics and such I figure ^-^)

hello
here is my submission, it is a cover(so it is my theme's choice) of a french artist : Coluche(1944-1986)
Je veux rester dans le noir
nothing original here, it is maybe rather "kitsch" but I like this song and had fun to record it
plugins used: tiny-q, compressive lite
