I am writing a song called New Kid in Town. It is about a new kid in a new town with adjustment issues. I have 3 potential song ideas called New Kid in Town at this link:
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... dID=405294
They are New Kid in Town 1, 2 and 3.
The production and writing are very rough and only give a rough sense of the songs. Would you mind giving the 3 a listen and voting on your favourite or letting me know if they all suck.
Thanks- Your help is always appreciated!

Sorry, Im not sure Im getting the question. You're trying to write a song and have three seperate ideas (text + music), right? You're not trying to make three versions of the song using the same text, right?S.HUSH wrote:My vote is keep the vocal melody in version 1, just make it slower. Make it a nice acoustic melodic tune.
Hmmm, I like No 1 I think. No 2 and 3 seem a little too relaxed. No 1 has the right level of anxiousness for me. It also sounds as though its at the high end of the singers vocal range, making it sound further 'stressed'. This works for me totally!
Good stuff.

now i dont want to appear pedantic, but, thats hardly an unusual request on a music related site. had you requested funds into the research of what occurs when matt damon joins kiss and its effects on modern society as a whole and in particular what it did to the price of slip on shoes, then that would be somewhat unusual.
i liked number 2.

There are good ideas in #3 but it ends up being a bit confused.
My fav is #2
If you choose #1 I agree on slowing down a bit
Cheers

I like #3 best, although 2 is good also.
- #3 is very close, maybe too close to Bob Dylan's - "Lay Lady Lay"
BTW, how do you like these lyrics;
There's talk on the street; it sounds so familiar
Great expectations, everybody's watching you
People you meet, they all seem to know you
Even your old friends treat you like you're something new
Johnny come lately, the new kid in town
Everybody loves you, so don't let them down
You look in her eyes; the music begins to play
Hopeless romantics, here we go again
But after awhile, you're lookin' the other way
It's those restless hearts that never mend
Johnny come lately, the new kid in town
Will she still love you when you're not around?
There's so many things you should have told her,
but night after night you're willing to hold her,
Just hold her, tears on your shoulder
There's talk on the street, it's there to
Remind you, that it doesn't really matter
which side you're on.
You're walking away and they're talking behind you
They will never forget you 'til somebody new comes along
Where you been lately? There's a new kid in town
Everybody loves him, don't they?
Now he's holding her, and you're still around
Oh, my, my
There's a new kid in town
Ooh, hoo
just another new kid in town
Ooh, hoo
Everybody's talking 'bout the new kid in town,
Everybody's walking' like the new kid in town
There's a new kid in town
There's a new kid in town
I don't want to hear it
There's a new kid in town
I don't want to hear it
There's a new kid in town
