A quick note to let folks know that there are two new ambient releases now available for free download/listening at Earth Mantra Netlabel (www.earthmantra.com) ::

earman026 - Musir von Vidalia - Solar Plexus
http://www.earthmantra.com/solarplexus
Earth Mantra welcomes Musir von Vidalia to its community of artists, and with a release like Solar Plexus we hope it will be the first of many future releases. Solar Plexus is a single ambient longplay spanning nearly 50 minutes of lush textural ambience with touches of Berlin school electronica, making it approachable by fans of chilled electronica and by deep-diving ambient heads alike. This is a great album to listen to with headphones in a darkened room, which takes you on an aural journey through space and time. In short, it's great ambient music by a great artist. Check it out.

earman027 - Allen Goodman and Darrell Burgan - Tryptophan Haze
http://www.earthmantra.com/tryptophanhaze
Tryptophan Haze is a set of three live ambient improvisations performed by Allen Goodman and Darrell Burgan on November 24, 2007, live on StillStream.com before an internet audience from around the globe. The story goes like this. One day, on a lark the artists decided to do several live improvisations on Darrell's net radio program on StillStream.com, only a few hours before the broadcast began. Despite the last minute nature of their setup, these performances were the result. After the broadcast, Allen and Darrell both felt that the performances that night were special and needed to be released, hence this album. Part One is a solo improvisation performed by Allen; similarly, Part Two is an improvisational solo performance by Darrell. Part Three, however, is a duet improvised in real time by both Allen and Darrell, using the ninjam net collaboration tool (http://ninjam.com). Many kudos to Cockos Incorporated for making such an incredibly useful tool available freely to the community!

All the releases are ambient and are well worth your time to download. Like all releases on Earth Mantra, these are released under Creative Commons. Since the music is free to anonymously download and enjoy, there's really no reason not to grab these releases and hear for yourself.

Cheers!
Darrell
