To those interested and to those who might be curious. I have added the next track to the project of The Lamb Laid Down on MIDI, the powerful, LILYWHITE LILITH. This was a brand new performance midi that I created just for this project and was created mostly from live tracking with keyboards and a MIDI guitar.
You can check it out at:
www.lldom.blogspot.com
And chose "Lilywhite Lilith" from the track listing on the top right of the home page. I have a little section where you can leave me instant feedback by rating the song. Plus, if you have the time, you can read my rantings on how this track was created and mixed (the toys used, etc.).
Well, enjoy and I hope you get a few minutes to check out the site.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Wow,
I checked out this song and being a huge Genesis fan, had a hard time telling this apart from the original. Even most of the instruments sounds were spot on. The drum track didn't sound like Phil's kit but still sounded good to me. I enjoyed your description of how you put this song together and what instruments, plugins you used. Very interesting and thanks.

Very Impressive. It will be quite an accomplishment and good way of preserving this wonderful album. The Lamb has deep sentimental significance to me.

Thanks guys...
The drum kit is from our buddy Squids... Oceanway Drums, I can't stop saying enough good things about them. They truly sound like the drums were recorded and mixed at a studio versus just having drum samples.
asbfly: The Lamb has deep sentimental significance to me as well. Maybe it's just me but this album still sounds fresh to me after 30 something years and not dated at all.
Thanks again and glad you enjoyed the tribute track.

I went to the website and read your blog about how you put this song together. It was quite interesting and I am not sure I understand how you sampled the vocals from the original recording but they sound good.
I just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying your project. These old Genesis songs are sentimental to me.
THANKS AGAIN

Fantastic.
I do something similar with existing midi files.
I'm trying to provide myself with music to sing over a la KAROAKE.
Planning on attempting to learn to sing this winter.
Old Genesis (with PG) is the s%$t man.
I'm not a good keys/piano player.
I usually just replace the guitar parts.
I just did The Knife.
Before that some ZZ Top (Planet Of Women).
I haven't researched the sounds as seriously as you have.
Just use my ear, Anyway it's just for my personal enjoyment.
Again great job. I know you're enjoying it.
Cheers!

From your blogsite...
I know that the layout of this blog page is a bit awkward but I hope you got a chance to appreciate the simple genius of GENESIS. If you noticed, everybody added two parts to the end of The Lamia. I haven't listened that carefully to the live version of the lamia and am not sure if Tony and Mike play both of their parts at the same time. Tony, organ and mellotron and Mike, Rick and Pedals but they could have pulled this part off. Steve and Phil, on the other hand, could not play both parts, so the live version of this ending is missing the vibes and the second guitar part for sure.
Have you ever seen The Musical Box. They recreate the early Genesis shows.
Do a very good job.
A little story.
I witnessed this with some friends.
During a presentation of The Lamb by TMB, the 5 musicians on stage were assisted by a pair of mysterious HANDS playing an addition keyboard part stage right. The curtain hid most of the player's head and body, but the hand were clearly visible. Not sure how many times during the show this happened.
One of our group suggested the skill that TB must have had to play both parts himself.

Thanks guys...
I saw TMB about 10 years ago in NJ... they did the SEBTP show.... they were OK, good musicians but it DID NOT invoke the same inspiration of seeing GENESIS live back in 73 and 74... those were magical shows for me.
