Just more time! For everything
It wasn't me! (well, actually, it probably was) - apparently now an 'elderly' so maybe I forgot!

Just to be clear, I don't mean a general change, just a change for February because it's a short month.

Lots of tracks leaning more towards the experimental this month - not my favorite tack to hammer, but here are some comments anyways!

Mister Natural - Raul Knows

I enjoyed the last half of the track much more than the first. The tuba in particular grated on me, but once we got to the cool warbly synths and e-piano I was enjoying myself.

kryptonaut - Realm of the Ice Raven

Minus the crow sounds, this could fit in a science fiction video game! I do get an icy theme from this. Nitpicks: If there were time to find more samples, I wish I could have heard more play with the crow sounds. The end doesn't sound menacing enough to match the wild crying noises.

woolyloach - Polka or Die

The solos are good, but the background doesn't support them well enough, and the transitions are a little awkward. Not sure what to suggest - hope that's helpful and not too harsh!

foosnark - Skillet and Corbie

I would have liked to hear more layers - but then again I like complicated things. :)

ClaRago - Poe-lka Poe-le-ka

More polka please! I thought that part was genius and silly and wonderful.

spirulence - Cook It Cook It

This man is clearly nuts. :x

Almost submitted a song this month as it fits the theme ....
but, it was made a few months back and couldn't bring myself to cheat so have posted it in the Cafe instead.

No, you're pretty much dead on - I had a hard time getting things to drop in even with extensive mangling, I think my tendency to go over the top got me into trouble this time.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

I'm might be wrong, but doesn't a piece just have to be composed specifically for the contest? If so, why can't you use something from months back if you just clean it up a little? I can remember a few times that people have said something along the lines of taking an old track and adding to it or editing it.

Maybe you should have asked Dan if he's OK with you doing that then you could have participated?

Listening round, with little comments:

Mr Natural: Drum machine and tuba... Hey, I have been there myself... :o Beginning is intriguing, I was curious what's next, middle part was a step back to mainstream electro-arp, which I found a little disappointing, as I was hoping for something wilder. Then the heavy ending was quite fun. It's nicely constructed, conservative take on frying pan.

woolyloach: Wild and fun. Sound like in a gig in a very big empty garage, which is ambient element, I guess... This is great, I love the combination. By the way...

ClaRago: Cartoon chiptunes over haunting jungle rhythms and unexpected textures, fascinating. This is good, ends too quickly and simply though, like suddenly scared of itself. I liked where it was going.

foosnark: Javanese festival of pan. Exotic to dizziness. I like.

kryptonaut: Spacious and cinematic so to say. Feels like descending into a very deep cave full of crows, down into scary mass of black feathers.

Laura's Dad: Kitchen fanfare from the legend of princess pancakes. I'm confused.

robojam: Sounds like bunch of robots filling up jam jars in marmalade factory. Fits the theme.

Shrikant: Stream of confusioness... Yes, there is no such word, but holy crow, I love this.

spirluence: Delirious nightmares from shopping channel... scary.

update:

beanpole: That's the classic side of rocking pan. Chorus is really cool and catchy.

Laguna Rising: All of the above, except for classic and conservative.
