Hey guys, I wanna ask you what you prefer to listen to because I usually make fairly noisy music, but only because I like it. I get so bored when I listen to (only) compressed sounds all the time, it's like nothing goes all the way from the ears to the brain.
Here's a new song I made. I wanna know if you think it's too loud for your ears or if it feels good. https://soundcloud.com/lucianscloud/im-based
And this is not promotion of my music of any kind, I don't give a shit bout that.

The kick sounds crushed to me, making it less fun to listen to. Just my opinion.
Without the crushed kick, it would be a nice piece of music!

I didn't listen to it from start to finish but I do like the sound. It very 'modern'.
The kick sounds powerful. I'd guess that it could seem crushed, when the powerful kick and (crushed sounding) clap overlap.

Anyone who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.

I don't get the thread title to be honest. The opposite of compressed is uncompressed / dynamic for me, so why vs. noisy ?
For example classical music is mostly uncompressed but I wouldn't consider it noisy.
But to answer the question, I prefer rather dynamic music and also get bored quickly from heavily compressed stuff.

lol-noisy? It's more like hearing a live band vs. a packaged shiny thing.

Thank you very much for the replies. Yeah, I'm no expert on this exact subject. But I've not heard a lot of people talking about it, only greatly different taste from artist to artist as i listen through my soundcloud feed. Also, I have not been a musician for a long time, so I might get a better perspective on it later.
By the way, what does it mean to have a crushed kick?
