Here's my song for the Wave Alchemy Producer Contest 2014.
I didn't finish in time for the contest , so I added some more "mojo" and hope to hear some feedback, mostly about mixing.
It's my first dubstep song attempt , it's not finished yet.
Please feel free to point anything you think I can do to make this song sound better .
Thank you in advance!

Hi TrekStar!TrekStar wrote:I like it! whether it's dubstep or not. lots of good sounddetails in there!
cheers

Thank you for your feedback!
Glad you liked some of the sounds.
Yeah I'm not a dubstep guy, I just tried it for fun and for learning how to mix.
Dubstep without wobble is not dubstep, I guess?
I'll not develop this song any further, so it was just a mix lesson that I miserably failed to achieve
Again, thank you for your feedback.

Sounds big and clear. No idea about dubstep so can't comment on that.
Maybe might benefit from adding some effects to the more conventional sounds.

Do you think it sounds big and clear? Wow, actually that's what I'm trying to achieve. I'm still learning how to use reverb to make things bigger in a mix. In my recent past I used to reverb everything, turning a sh*t song in a messy blurred sh*t song .
I'll do some experiments with effects, as you suggested.
Again, thank you for your feedback.

Good stuff. Maybe you may want to consider putting less or no reverb on bass.
Yeah I know what you mean about reverb, it is fun to put it on everything.
But it really muddies stuff up.
Recently been learning to use EQ, pan position and other effects such as filters and saturators instead to give sounds character without the muddying effect of reverb.
Best with your composing/mixing!

I'm not a follower of mainstream dubstep, but I thought the the mix mas very good. You have managed to leave a lot of space in the mix, which probably helped to maintain the clarity I hear there. I liked the percussion, synths, FX.
Good work

I'm not into dubstep either, but wherever I go, people talk about it.
So I thought: Why not? As a mixing lesson, it can't hurt .
Glad you liked it, I know it's too short to call it a "song", but I spent a lot of time in the mixing stage, trying to make it sound good, at least to me .
Again, thank you for your feedback, means a lot to me .
