Wow, 2015....

Who would have thunk we would have made it.
Most sci-fi movies and CDs about the future are all named for days gone by:

1984
2001: A Space Odyssey
Prince 1999
Etc...

Just completed my end of year tune, excited about the new one (its gonna be a good one).
A big happy new year to all you KVRers and fellow musicians!

Very enjoyable. I've been listening to some chilled stuff this afternoon ahead of the chaos that is scheduled for later. There are some lovely soft sounds on here, and the drumkit sounds great too. Nice tune too.

Good work :)

A Happy New Year to you too.

I didn´t expect a soft one like that,
but good choice of sounds.
Happy new year and all the best !

Wow, 2015, that´s crazy ...
I don´t expect to see some flying cars like in
"Back to the future II" this year

But let´s hope that it´ll be a great one ;-)

Can you guess the drummer?
You might recognize his style.... :)

I don't really have any idea. Maybe Peter Erskine or Vinnie Colaiuta?

Well, I guess that was an unfair question....I mean how could you possibly know who the drummer was...
But you took a chance anyway and got it on the first guess. Ha ha, good job sir, your ears are on fire and golden.

I saw Erskine with Weather Report way back at the dawn of time. Great gig.

It was the snare sound that made me think of P.E.

I bet that was a great show.

Weather Report is one of those over looked early electronic based bands.

Joe Zawinul was a pioneer in many ways.

Here is an interesting interview with him:

Joe was great, but it was Jaco who blew me away that night. I bought a bass guitar right after that concert

Yea, I have seen footage from that era.
Jaco was young and the other guys were well, not young.

He brought energy to the band and the performance.

There were a lot of egos in that band (check out the interview).
I think Joe might have felt Jaco got too much attention.

None the less, the audience enjoyed the energy Jaco brought to the band.

I saw him solo (with his band) after WR dis banned.

He was a bit hyped up if you know what I mean.....

If you talk about an interview of the 90´ than I know what you mean.
Zawinul had a planced ego and couldn´t bear that someone had more fans and was more popluar than him. He blamed his son for the fact that he kicked Jaco out of Weather Report. According to Joe his son once said to him "Jaco is playing the same all the time !"
The opinion of a child has to be set in perspective, it´s a child and that crazy Jazz stuff all sounds the same for childrens ears anyway.
To use this statement as a reason for kicking the best bass player of all time out of the band is really miserable. My respect for Joe decreased instantly.
Music in general is teaching you humbleness and it´s not about one´s ego !

There are other examples like Jack de Johnette or Santana, these guys are able to teach someone what is meant by the term humbleness.
