Happy May Day.
Contest notes:
1. In case you missed it: the time limit is four minutes this month rather than three.
2. Fusion Field is no longer in the prize pool. Again, thanks to QuikQuak for the many months when it was.

Four minutes! I hope I find the time and inspiration this month.
My favourite music at the moment (quite for a while now actually) and as spectacularly Prog as you can get:
Shiny Eyed Babies by Bent Knee (<-- Click it!)
Please consider to support them. They deserve it.

The JRR Shop prize is now UVI Mello alone (which is nothing to sneeze at, mind you).

When Pink Floyd's Nick Mason decided to record a solo album in the late '70s he brought in Carla Bley to write and produce, Robert Wyatt to sing, and a bunch of other talented musicians.

Their live presentations were awesome, tough I've never seem them alive(I'm to young!) but youtube videos do this favor for us. They are such killer musicians as well!rp314 wrote:And let's not forget Gentle Giant...

I hope we're all just taking our time with our entries. Though this isn't true in my case (neck/back trouble left me uninspired; seems to be clearing, so I hope to get something done in the remaining days).
Re: Gentle Giant: Is The Power and the Glory a fair representation of them? Got it from the library. A few nice musical bits, but otherwise...er, not for me.

I would say so but it might not hurt for you to check out some of their other work.
Here's a piece from their album Octopus based on the poetry of R. D. Laing.

And, incidentally, among those mentioned in most articles about English prog rock, Gentle Giant is one of those that never quite reached the level of success of some of the others.
