the download "formula" used to be detailed in a link from Kryptonaut within the submissions rules - but it's not there any longer and . . . it's been a while since I participated here.

Any chance you could detail what the KVR upload "code" is ?

Rule #3 state that you must provide a DIRECT LINK to the file. (this means you will download the file with just one click)
Which detail are you willing to make clear ?
Do you think the rule should be rephrased ?

what is the formula to make my soundcloud track DIRECTLY download- ible ?

I remember it as, something like: http://soundcloud.mrnatural(track detail)(followed by something like)/download?mp3.(some additional digits and symbols) - then a bracket/ and shit]

if anyone has Krypto's old formula - (like this) - I'd be grateful

^SoundCloud changed something on their end that made the old way not work anymore, so I took the link to kryptonaut's tutorial out.

What should work now is this: right click on the download arrow on the player that shows up in the post, "copy link location", paste that. Should look like this: https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/25855 ... YYO50NUGpJ

Edit: "copy link location" not "copy link as".

I'm running out of patience with Soundcloud, they keep breaking things, and dropping original features. These days I almost never get notifications when those I'm following put up a new track

There is a direct download link in the soundcloud posts, isn't that enough to comply with the rules ?

^As long as the thing's set to be downloadable, yes.

It makes life slightly more difficult for those of us who have the forum settings set to not turn links into players (there might be no us, only a me, I'm not sure), and a player won't show up on farlukar's automated page, but it is within the rules.

The problem is it seems I had to log in to soundcloud to download this track, so anyone without a soundcloud account would seem to be excluded. Is the track set as private?
