Hi,

This some experiment I did, getting inspired by watching some videos about 80's synths and sounds on SynthMania.

Cool stuff, I dig it
Solid mix, with good balance between the "driving" rhythm of drum + bass and the synth melodies.
I'm not an expert but I recognize the good work to recreate those 80's timbre

Cheers

I am hearing 80s style bass and drums overlayed with 90s style Vangelis anthemic melody. It is a good combination. The mix is good.

The arrangement has lots of variations but I might have preferred a B section that leaves out the primary anthemic melody which gets a bit repetitive by the end of the track.

Nice work. :tu:

I agree with Frantz. It has a lovely anthemic quality, but also a quirky synth/organ and beat. Interesting mixture. Well done. :)

+1 to the Vangelis reference, and I also think there seems to be a Slavic/Russian martial influence with the vocal/pad sounds. Nice pacing and length.

Good work :)

Thanks so much for listening! Every time somebody mentions a Vangelis reference I feel quite honored :)

Nice instrumental tune. A bit melancholy but still pleasant melody. Good mix and sounds

Such a cool song. You must have grown up in the Soviet Union.

I could well imagine this playing in some very stylized/animated opening credits of a TV show or documentary set in Soviet Union. It's quirky, but enough serious, that it could fit pretty much anywhere, from drama to (black) comedy, or thriller. Definetely that "instantly recognisable TV-theme"-material. :tu:

Pretty ready as it is, but if there's something I can think of, I would maybe give the snare a bit more reverb to give it some variation, but not too much so it wouldn't lose the nice snap it has.
The flute is such a cool idea, but it feels like it's somehow "held back". Maybe mix it more front and/or middle?

Post

Wow, thanks for the review! I didn't have the Soviet Union in mind, just perhaps a motivational theme.
Thank you so much for listening!
